What else there is to say about Into the Spiderverse? IT’S A BRILLIANT ANIMATED GEM!
Not only is the animation style unique and paved the way for more great stories with this format (Mitchells vs the Machines, The Bad Guys, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, more to come too), but it’s such a good and strong story, different but familiar from all the Spider-Man stories we know. Miles Morales is definitely one of the most important Spider-Man ever. I’m not black, but he is half-Puerto Rican, I’m Puerto Rican too and seeing that in a movie like this made me feel so proud. If I had to pick which one of the Spider-Men were my favorite, it has to been Peni Parker and Spider-Ham. Peni is so cool with her gadgets and even before this movie I already knew who she was and read her stories. Spider-Ham is because…he’s John Mulaney and John Mulaney is awesome
Crazy how Sony Pictures Animation went from making one of the most hated movies to one of the most beloved movies, ALL IN OVER AN YEAR. At this point in time the sequel would’ve come out this month (THIS WEEK ACTUALLY), but I understand the waiting will be worth it come June 2 when Across the Spiderverse comes out
