3 years later and this movie is still a classic! I can’t talk about Spider-Man without mentioning Spider-Verse. It’s a love letter to the character and a work of art as well.
The animation is freaking gorgeous with a different blend of styles. It has 3D, 2D, noir, cartoony, and even anime animation styles to help make the film diverse, creative, and unique. It’s a visual treat for the eyes.
The story is excellent. Anyone (or you) can wear the mask or can become the hero. While it’s also a coming of age story to get involved with making friends and building up who you need to be. It’s a movie made for the fans as well as adults and kids alike.
The voice cast were fantastic and I forgot they were actors while they were playing these characters.
Miles Morales is an awesome protagonist and each variant of Spider-Man have their own charm and personality from the rest. Diversity and representation feels natural and it’s not shoved down in our throats for once.
I definitely feel that No Way Home is taking so many notes from this movie. Especially since the story also revolves Miles bringing the other Spider-Mans back home.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is amazing but you already knew that. I can’t wait for the sequel next year!
