Though I haven't seen a ton of them, I seem to find that I have a strong appeal towards musicals that are done correctly - so with this being said and all the buzz and positive word of mouth I had heard going into this film - Did I leave disappointed?
Absolutely not - I thought this was a beautifully crafted film with memorable musical numbers and incredible performances from Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone in a film that is so much more than just a musical.
There is so much brilliantly portrayed social commentary in this film, I have zero experience with any of this but just getting that taste of it - you can see that Director Damien Chazelle was brutally honest with his depiction of these characters and their dreams - Very much worth seeing.
