I hadn't seen La La Land since early 2017 (before I had letterboxd), not sure why it took so long for me to watch it again as I loved it and it immediately became one of my all-time faves.  Actually it occurs to me now that it may be because it breaks your heart at every turn.  I didn't expect it to make me cry this time around..boy was I wrong.  Everything had me sniffling.  Their fight, the play, seb getting mia to go to the audition, her actual audition, then of course the epilogue.  (By the way, on first watch did anyone else think at that point they were gonna pull a 13 going on 30?) The more I watched, the more I realized how much of this I can relate to.  It may have been the best film I could watch at a time like this, as I'm anxiously waiting to hear back about a job interview (not exactly a dream job, but a step in the right direction).  And this is my 6th attempt at getting out of my current job which I hate.  La La Land is completely heartbreaking in some places, but it also has a calming effect knowing you're not alone in struggling between what you have to do and what you want to do, battling between discouragement and perseverance.  This film is transcendent.
