I graduated today. It’s so surreal that I’ve spent my entire life in school and this chapter of my life is just over. I’ve always hated school, but when I was walking the halls for the final time and watching everyone I grew up with walk across the stage, I realized that I truly am going to miss high school and all of the memories I had.
The next chapter for me: film school. I’m finally going to be able to follow my dreams in becoming a filmmaker, and I’m super excited to get out into the world and make a name for myself.
It only seemed appropriate to watch the film that I most personally connect to, La La Land. This time, it hit different. I see myself in both Mia and Sebastian, just a person with a crazy dream who obsesses over it and has trouble connecting with others who don’t share the same passion. And watching it on the night where I will finally be released into the world, it just really connected with me this time around.
