John Mulaney & The Sack Lunch Bunch

    ★★★★

One every year Boyhood style please.

    Jake Gyllenhaal god tier.

  • 6 Underground

    6 Underground

    ½

Any movie with this much Muse and parkour cannot be legally considered good.

  • The Irishman

    The Irishman

    ★★★★★

It was no more complicated than that.

There are no less than 30 moments in this movie that send a chill up my spine.

  • The King

    The King

    ★★½

Well shot, cast and acted medieval Shakespeare until Robert Pattinson comes in and sticks a grenade up the movie’s ass.

I know the whole “Pattinson is awesome” bit has become a little repetitive over the last few months, but god damn it is he awesome.

  • The Irishman

    The Irishman

    ★★★★★

    Tommy DeVito deserved to die.

    Jimmy Hoffa didn’t.

That’s why this is Marty’s masterpiece.

  • The Laundromat

    The Laundromat

    ★★★

Eat the rich. Or at the very worst, take some food from their plate.

Burns and Soderbergh take a pretty sharp left turn with this story. You’d think a story like this would play out like The Insider, but it skews closer to The Big Short but with a heavier dose of surrealism.

Overall I found it just playful enough to be entertaining. Which for Soderbergh, makes this a massive letdown.

  • Scream

    Scream

    ★★½

Now, Sid, don't you blame the movies; movies don't create psychos, movies make psychos more creative!

That final reveal was trash and boy oh boy was this a precursor to Ready Player One. Yikes.

Neve Campbell must have suffered some major fatigue from carrying this movie on her back for an hour and a half.

    The spoof is funnier ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • Rain Man

    Rain Man

    ★★★★

I have forgiven Dustin Hoffman for Death of a Salesman. Just barely though.

  • The Stranger

    The Stranger

    ★★★½

I’m glad I was born when I was born because these mf’s are wearing suits as casual wear and that’s just stupid.

    Orson 🥰

  • Gangs of New York

    Gangs of New York

    ★★★★

Between Lincoln, Gangs of New York and There Will Be Blood, it feels like my fav Day-Lewis performance will always be the one I’ve seen most recently.

This movie’s messy, sure, but it arguably has the most thematic substance of Scorsese’s filmography and has aged better than I thought it would. Really solid picture!

And while I wouldn’t trade DDL’s masterful  performance for the world, apparently Tom Hanks was offered the role of The Butcher. I really want to see what that would have looked like.

  • Lincoln

    Lincoln

    ★★★★★

    He belongs to the ages.

A damn shame that a man as morally corrupt and hateful as 45 gets to say he had the same job as Abraham.

One’s death we continue to mourn.

For the others there will be dancing in the streets, especially by yours truly.

This might be Spielberg’s best movie. Definitely Day-Lewis’s best performance.

  • Notting Hill

    Notting Hill

    ★★★★½

I want to buy 3 dvd’s of this movie, grind them down into dust, arrange the dust into as long of a line as I can and then snort the dust until I lose conciousness.

    AKA: The Steve Jobs treatment.
