Polanski's elegant deconstruction of human behavior soars in a movie full of close combat, in-your-face performances.

    John Mulaney: Baby J

So you’re telling me we can get a funny stand up special in the year 2-0-2-3 that doesn’t have 30 minutes set aside for some middle aged dork to whine about cancel culture and how it’s facism (?) that people don’t laugh at their tired & lazy jokes.

    Crazy.

I’m glad that Drug John didn’t kill Normal John. But I do wish we got some clarity on… The Timeline.

The Road to 4: Sid’s Little Shop of Horrors

Pixar and I were born (hatched in my case) 7 months apart in 1995. I had the toys, I watched the movies and like everyone else I've had a front row seat to Pixar’s legendary film output over the last 24 years.

Their highs are genre-defining and their “lows” hardly drop an ounce of enthusiasm I have for whatever their next project is.

Toy Story is the genesis of that goodwill…

Nielsen's been there/done that ode to spy movies fails to match the brilliance of Weird Al's opening theme.

    Toy Story

    ★★★★★

Over the last week, I've been thinking a lot (perhaps too much) about what movie would be the last movie I see all year.

    I settled on Toy Story.

Even though it seems like we're barraged with a shitstorm of misery and fear, there will always be more light than dark. Friendship prevails and deep down, no matter how it may seem, bad people get what is coming to them in the end. Whether you can see it or not.

Progress is not a straight line. Let's all try to remember that and make the best of this year. Bring it on, 2017!

I probably said more watching this movie than there was dialogue. And I freaking love that about it.

Proof that silent films should still be a part of cinema in some way.

Unfortunately, due to the silence, the character that is least developed is the one who I as a viewer wanted to know more about. Really that's my main issue. I wasn't wholly satisfied with neck tattoo guy and why he was a murderer.

Overall, this was an extremely well made flick that I'm glad I saw.

P.S. For fellow cat fans out there, don't worry, it lives.

Don’t get me wrong, this is a HUGE ego trip by Bruce, but he’d fill half of the great American songbook, so he’s earned this.

Pretty good! Despite being a carbon copy of the graphic novel (as it should be tbh, don’t mess with perfection) there’s a handful of really cool choices made that really make the story come alive visually.

This film says a lot about our society.

SBC doesn’t get enough credit as an artist. This is just so funny and revealing of the cultural rot we have to deal with.
