Float

The Float^[1] was a carnival float that was cut from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

Description[]

There are no leftover models or textures for the Float, except for its handling data.^[2]

According to old scrapped american.gxt lines left in a notusedtext.txt file by the developers (and accidentally left in the files of the original release of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition), the vehicle was a carnival float and was intended to be appear in a removed mission for the Caligula's Palace, in which Carl Johnson would escort a VIP to the casino while being pursued by one of the rival Mafia families.

[MAF1_22:MAFIA1] Watch over the carnival floats The mafia are disguised on top of them.  The mafia will jump off the float and attempt to kill the vip.
[MAF1_23:MAFIA1] Only take a shoot when you see one of them make a run for the VIP.
[MAF1_24:MAFIA1] The mafia driver is getting away chase him down!
[MAF1_25:MAFIA1] VIP died!

The original appearance of the Float is foreshadowed during the mission Snail Trail, where Eddie Pulaski is reading a San Andreas Post newspaper with the headline "Las Venturas... [illegible text] ...carnival".^[3]
