For the hot dog van in Grand Theft Auto 2, see Hot Dog Van.
The Hotdog is a mobile catering vehicle in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
Design[]
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas[]
The vehicle appears to be a Ford Vanette, with some styling clues from the Commer BF, converted into a hot dog van. Judging from its silver color, it appears to be made out of aluminum, which is a feature seen on airstream campers.
The Hotdog is designed as a large, old van, where the front end features a small bumper with a license plate at the bottom, while the upper area has a chevron-shaped grille, a small compartment in the center, and two circular headlights beside it. The area above is occupied by the dual windshield. On the sides, the vehicle has the corresponding access doors and a long compartment on the right that is always open, while a large window and the fuel cap are seen on the left, around the rear half. The roof is distinctively rounded and tall, with an oversized roof-mounted hotdog. The rear of the vehicle is very traditional, featuring a vented unit on the upper area, a large compartment on the lower area, and red circular tail lights beside it, together with another small bumper at the bottom. The van is also depicted with a fully-rendered interior on the rear compartment, with several details such as compartments and cups.
The van spawns in a white/grayish color with Alex's Dog'z markings, also selling a variety of food and drinks such as tea, coffee, soup and burgers.
The player will receive 40 points of health and have their hunger eliminated when entering a Hotdog van.
Performance[]
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas[]
The vehicle's poor performance, characterized by its slow acceleration, speed and heavy handling, makes the Hotdog an unpractical vehicle for demanding driving, although its size and weight makes the vehicle more resilient to damage, as most large vehicles do.
The vehicle is powered by a diesel engine, coupled to a five-speed gearbox in a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout. It has a noisy engine sound also used on the Yankee, likely to denote its old appearance.

Trivia[]
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas[]
- While CJ can auto aim at the vendor inside the van, the vendor cannot be shot, unless if the player is using an SPAS 12. In addition, a Katana or a Nightstick can be used to hit the vendor.
- When the player steals the Hotdog, the vendor will cower in fear underneath the counter and one can still hear the vendor screaming. The red circle to buy a hot dog will also disappear. Even if the player exit the vehicle or drive it into the ocean, the vendor will not die, instead, he will continue to cower in fear.
