Volume summary: Volume 12 of Act 2

The chronology pages describe the comics to assist scholars in finding the page on which something occurred. For each page of the comic, the chronology pages identify the characters that appear, actions taken, significant quotes, and other things of interest. Page numbers from the website are zero padded to three digits and in parentheses, for example: (005), (061), (113). Page numbers from print volumes are neither, for example: 5, 61, 113. Section titles are from the canon unless otherwise noted.

For historical reasons, volumes 1 (I) through 13 (XIII) are usually identified with Roman numerals on the Girl Genius chronology pages and elsewhere in the wiki. From volume 14 on, the story entered a new "act" and the volume numbers started over, in Arabic numbers, proceeded by a "2-". For example, overall volume 15 is given as volume 2-2 on chronology pages.

For a partial timeline of the events in the comic, see Internal Chronology. For more information on the double-page spreads in this volume, see double-page spreads in Girl Genius. For more information on special pages in this volume, see the list of special pages, notes, and annotations.

Agatha, Bang, Tarvek, Zeetha, Klaus
Agatha and the others continue to marvel at the shocking sight of a great crowd of time-frozen Klauses, each apparently with their own Time stopper, at the center of the Time-stop field, where they expected to see only one.
Agatha: "It's the Baron—? It's…all the Baron?"
Bang: "Yeah…I mean, it's nice to see him again— but that's waaay too[3] many Klaus-es.Yikes."

While focusing on a single Klaus, Tarvek wonders out loud how the crowd of Klauses came to be. Agatha responds that she doesn't know, but says she wants to try finding out by getting a better look at the device the closest Klaus is holding.
Tarvek: "What could have caused this?"
Agatha: "I…I don't know! But it must be something to do with the time freeze! That device he's holding—I want a better look at it."

Agatha makes plans with her companions for an attempt to unfreeze just one Klaus so she can get a look at the device in his hand. Generals Khrizhan and Zog will be ready to grab the Baron, Bang and Zeetha will be ready to assist in subduing Klaus while watching for outside interference, and Prince Squealy… that is, Tarvek… will watch their backs. (Agatha wants everyone with her in the bubble of unfrozen time.) The party moves closer, bringing the nearest Klaus inside the field of Lady Heterodyne's Star, and he disappears in a flash of blue light and a burst of bubbles. Agatha is shocked, afraid that she has killed the Baron, but Kjarl has an epiphany.
Agatha: "Oh no! I killed him! I killed the Baron!"
Kjarl: "Ohhhhh! Now I see!"

Dal: "What? What? Are my trouser buttons undone? What?"
Agatha: "Don't worry. The Black Squad appears to be somewhat dimensionally unstable. The Lantern field has this effect on them.[6] It's fascinating, really-"

Dal: "Sure am! Grew up in the reign of Lord Saturnus! Huh… He was your Grandpa, I guess…"
Agatha: "Oh? You don't look that old? Is the Black Squad related to the Jägers somehow?"

Before the sparks can really get distracted, Kjarl begins his explanation of the phenomenon, and is disappointed to discover that it's not as mind-blowing as he thought it would be.

Klauses (dissipating), General Gkika
We see a dozen or more Klauses, in profile, from the shoulders up. They are all in a similar posture, staring straight to the left with stern, angry expressions, and all holding a time-stop device in front of and slightly above their faces. The sphere of light from Lady Heterodyne's Star quickly expands into the scene from left to right, washing across and dissipating the Klauses one after another. In a moment they are all gone and we see that the last few Klauses to vanish were obscuring General Gkika and a single time-stop device, apparently the original one, hanging suspended in mid air.[10] Gkika comes out of the time freeze and reacts in surprise to the disappearance of Klaus—the last Gkika knew, she was in a no-holds-barred fight with the Baron. Almost immediately, the illumination from Agatha's Star retracts, leaving Gkika back in the time freeze.

The sparks are fascinated by the interaction between the Lantern and the time-stop device, but Bang brings their focus back to more immediate concerns - if the Baron isn't here, where would he be? The group briefly ponders the matter, before pausing, and looking upwards towards Castle Wulfenbach looming ominously over the city.
Tarvek: "Did you see that? That sphere—"
Agatha: "Yes. An interesting reaction."
Kjarl: "The effect does appear to be especially thick in that area."
Gil: "It didn't fall when the field surrounded it."
Tarvek: "If whatever it's putting out is stronger than the lantern—do you think we'll be able to get close enough to turn it off?"
Agatha: "We'll just have to try. We can—"
Bang: "Yeah, yeah—another round of delicious science for the house! The Baron, geniuses! Where is Klaus?"

The hangar officer is quickly checked and found to be clean. He recognizes Boris and asks what is happening, apparently being as much in the dark about the situation on Castle Wulfenbach as the boarding party. Boris orders him held under guard, despite his non-revenant status. After confirming the area is secure, Boris goes over the plan to take control of the mighty airship. Boris, Martellus and his Knights, and some members of the Vespiary Squad will find the captain and try to take control. Trelawney, Othar, Oana, Ruxala, and the Jägers will go to engineering, disabling the airship, if necessary, although Boris hopes it won't be. (Othar is a little too enthusiastic at the prospect.) Boris ends by warning them all to be as stealthy as possible and improvise if necessary, though he doesn't seem pleased at the thought of what that might lead to.
Hangar Officer: "Sir! You're back, sir!"
Boris: "Indeed I am."
Hangar Officer: "Sir, what's happening? The evacuation—"
Boris: "That's what I'm here to find out."

Boris makes his way to Castle Wulfenbach Security and is announced to Colonel Chakraborty, the Head of Security, who is very surprised to see him. Boris immediately makes it clear that he is highly displeased at being told nothing about all the unusual activity on the Castle. Chakraborty vehemently declares he has been sending reports every two hours, while Boris insists he gotten no information, not even about the evacuation order. The Colonel responds that no one has the authority to interfere with his dispatches except Boris, the Baron, and Captain Patel, and that he is very concerned about the Captain's recent orders. Boris decides that they will speak to Patel. Chakraborty is eager to confront the Captain, as long as it's under Boris's authority.
Chakraborty: "Sir—there are a number of Patel's recent command decisions I find questionable. Usually he does me the courtesy of explaining his actions—but today he's been strangely silent—and I don't like it!"

Trelawney, Oana Grosu, Lackya, Lopside Mo
Trelawney complains that it is taking too long to fix the boilers and that losing two people to the battle against the giant spider didn't help. Oana agrees and suddenly has an idea. She revives the Lackya that the Jägers knocked out after they found him spying on them[20] and tries to put him to work. At first he refuses but, once he discovers that the Jägers are already fixing boilers and Oana suggests that it might be too difficult for him to do the same, the old Jäger-Lackya rivalry kicks in[21] and he vows he will outdo the Jägers at boiler fixing!
Lackya: "What is happening?"
Oana: "All the boilers are overheating."
Lackya: "So? Warm is nice. Good for sleeping."
Oana: "Good for sleeping forever! They're going to explode, and take the Castle with them! I need your help."
Lackya: "I am not an engineer!"
Oana: "I'll show you what to do!"
Lackya: "I am not—"
Lopside Mo: "Hoy! Hy did a whole row, and din even break ennyting impawtent!"
Oana: "Good! Keep going! The Jägers can do it. Now, if you don't think you can do it—"
Lackya: "Show me! I will do this thing better than any boorish Jäger!"

Seffie, Colette, Servant, Abraxus
Seffie is at a writing desk, reading a dispatch about how soon wasp eaters can be sent to Paris aloud, with a wine glass and bottle of champagne next to her on a small table[33]. Colette is not far from her, reclining on a chaise lounge and drinking champagne, very informally dressed. Suddenly, Abraxus bursts into the room. Seffie and Colette are shocked to see him and the latter demands to know why he is there. He declares that Paris has fallen. Moreover, this is not due to revenants as Colette first assumes, but because the city has been directly taken over by Princess Terebithia von Blitzengaard. Both women are aghast at the news.
Abraxus: "My Lady! The city! The city has fallen!"
Seffie: "What?!"
Colette: "—But how? I sealed the city, and left behind no one who could command the revenants! No one!"
Abraxus: "My Lady, it's worse than that! She…she controls the city itself! I barely escaped!"
Colette: "'She?!' Who is 'She?!' Who even has the ability to do such a thing? Has the Lady Heterodyne betrayed us?"
Abraxus: "No! It was Princess Terebithia von Blitzengaard!"

Seffie, Abraxus, Colette, <Simon Voltaire, <Terebithia
Seffie, expressing great surprise that her grandmother is still in Paris[34], is confronted by Abraxus, brandishing a sheaf of papers. He says it is a report of her grandmother's activities. Colette takes the report from him and studies it. She is angered and dismayed at how thoroughly Terebithia has taken control of Paris and cannot understand how she could have managed it given the complexity of the city's systems. Abraxus responds: his extensive research uncovered the fact that Terebithia had an intimate relationship with Colette's father long ago and was able to wheedle information about the Parisian control systems out of him. Colette angrily turns to Seffie, saying that such underhanded behavior is typical of her grandmother and her whole awful family.
Colette: "That woman could charm the Great Mysteries out of the Twelve Sphinxes—quietly hold them for fifty years—and then pop out of the grave itself to further the machinations of that venomous family of hers!"

As Seffie continues to express disbelief in what she is hearing[34], Colette launches into a tirade against her and her whole family. Seffie swears that she knew nothing of her Grandmother's plans and Colette gazes at her regretfully for a moment, then continues her rant. Colette declares she will not repeat her father's mistakes and that she is leaving for Paris immediately to take back control of her city. Seffie is left completely devastated, not only by Collete's diatribe against her family and herself, but by Colette's strong hints that she was harboring romantic feelings for Seffie that the latter woman was unaware of.
Seffie: "—But this makes no sense! Grandmama was—"
Colette: "Enough! Not another word from you! To think Tarvek, of all people, is the most trustworthy of you all! —And you, her charming protégée—do you know, I actually argued with Gil? I said you were different! What a fool I was! As if the whole world were not aware of what your family is!"

Anyway I hope you enjoy seeing Eekineezer again. Squeak.

I'm not sure if it will land here in the final print version, or if a couple of other things need to happen first. We'll see when we get farther along. Phil is in the middle of his weekly rpg game with his friends at the moment, so I can't ask him about it!

Dreen-W, Castle Wulfenbach, Hideous Extradimensional Being: Type 1, Agatha, Gkika, Gil, Tarvek, Kjarl, Khrizhan, Dal Maghiar, Franz Scortchmaw
The Castle flings one of the Dreen into the air so that it can shoot the Extradimensional Being in the eye again. The enraged monster strikes at Agatha's party, scattering them and trapping Gil under a huge slab of stone. As the monster starts to strike again, they argue over whether to flee or try to free Gil. At the last minute Franz comes to the rescue, appearing out of nowhere. The dragon stops the creature's eye-limb a couple meters above the group, straining to hold it up, and complains that the commotion has disturbed his sleep. The others loudly apologize.
Franz: "Hey—some people are tryn'a sleep around here."
Everyone else: "Sorry!"

Agatha, Castle Heterodyne, Dreen-W, Torchmen, Gil, Tarvek, Hideous Extradimensional Being: Type 1, Moloch
The Castle directs the torchmen to slow Franz's fall and provide a soft landing, apparently adandoning the aerial Dreen then catching it the last moment. Agatha, Gil, and Tarvek complain about how long the Dreen are taking to defeat the Extradimensional Being, worrying that the entire town may soon be flattened. Then Moloch interrupts, appearing with Agatha's (formerly Gil's) lightning staff.
Moloch: "Hey, madgirl! Stop fooling around! I've got an airship to catch!"

Agatha, Moloch, Young Mechanicsburger, Gil, Franz, Tarvek
Agatha greets Moloch, surprised that he has her lightning staff. He angrily scolds her for leaving it lying on the ground so that a bunch of kids could find it. Agatha sheepishly owns up to her carelessness, but Moloch is more angry that the kids brought the staff to him than with her. As he demands to know why kids bring him dangerous Sparky items, he pauses to help a kid disarm just such a device, totally oblivious to the disconnect between his actions and words. Gil angrily stops Moloch from yelling at Agatha but is grabbed and yelled at in turn by Franz, who (not being aware of the time stop) thinks Gil has returned after he was just thrown out of town[59]. Tarvek begs Agatha not to correct Franz's confusion right away.
Agatha: "Herr von Zinzer? Oh—you've brought my lightning staff!"
Moloch: "That's right! Your ridiculously dangerous zap stick thing! Which you left lying around! On the ground! A bunch of kids brought it to me!"
Agatha: "Oh. Yeah, that could have been bad. I can see why you're mad—"
Moloch: "I'm mad because they brought it to me!"

Moloch, Tarvek, Agatha, Franz, Gil
In the forground, Moloch talks to Tarvek. In the background, Agatha can be seen ordering Franz to put Gil down, although we can't hear her words. Franz exasperatedly complies and Agatha, carrying her lightning staff, joins the conversation between Moloch and Tarvek. (For the rest of the page we can see Franz pretending to be nice to Gil unti he is sure Agatha isn't looking, then threatening that he will be watching him, all conveyed entirely through gestures in the background.) Tarvek and Agatha try to fill Moloch in on what has been happening, but it's complicated, since Moloch doesn't know about the time stop yet. Agatha also explains that she and all the other Sparks are waiting until the Dreen bring the Extradimensional Being entirely into their dimension before trying to attack it.[60]
Moloch: "Nice. —And all you Sparks are just standing around watching it rampage because—? I mean, it's a big one, but why isn't every Spark in town having a go at it? Don't you have a squirrel ray to test or something?"
Agatha: "The Dreen are supposed to be bringing the creature fully into our dimension. Until they get it into phase, our weapons will only make the situation worse."

Dreen, Agatha, Torchmen, Castle Heterodyne, Hideous Extradimensional Being: Type 1 (HEB)
One of the Dreen, held aloft by Torchmen, argues with Agatha, also held up by Torchmen and bearing her lightning staff, about how much destruction is allowed in the fight against the HEB and who is allowed to do it. Agatha, after alighting on an elevated platform, says the important thing is to move the destruction outside of Mechanicsburg. The Dreen is happy to hear that but warns that the Dreen's weapons have limited power and they will have trouble if the HEB continues to grow. Just then, it is swatted out of the air by one of the HEB's tentacles. Agatha catches the Dreen's weapon and, grinning manically, decides to try strengthening it.
Dreen: "Lady Heterodyne! You said you wanted us to do this the boring and stupid way!"
Agatha: "What? Yes! Absolutley!"
Dreen: "Ah! I understand now! You meant: 'Massive cataclysmic destruction is only fine if I am the one doing it!' Yes?"
Castle: "That does sound like the Family…"
Agatha: "Castle, you are not helping!"

Agatha, Dreen, ?Hideous Extradimensional Being: Type 1[66], Torchmen, Castle Heterodyne, Franz
Agatha starts enthusiatically tinkering with the Dreen weapon. When the owner asks her to return it, she say she will, in a minute, maybe with an upgrade. The Castle, operating through one of the Torchmen, brings Agatha her Star[67], which she apparently intends to use to power up the Dreen's weapon. As she and the Castle discuss her plans for the devices, Agatha is interrupted by a gout of flame overhead and a loud shout. The flame turns out to be a warning shot (really an indication of impatience) from Franz, who thinks Agatha should be doing more fighting and less Sparky messing about.
Franz: "Hey! Don't get distracted by shiny toys!"
Agatha: "It's not a toy! This will help!"
Franz: "Fine—but this thing's hard to manage by myself! It just stomped the Magnificent Mokmar's Discount Sausage Warehouse! I had credit there!"

  1. 1.0 1.1 1.2 1.3 This non-canon heading has been promoted to a level 2 heading (these headings are normally level 3) to make the Appearances page listings more accurate. (Only level 2 headings are indexed on the Appearances pages.)
  2. It is not clear what Kaja means by "electronic cover" in this context. The page number for this page is given as "Vol. 25: Web Cover!", so it is possible that it will be used as the "electronic edition wrapper cover" that is added to the PDF editions of all the Girl Genius graphic novels. But the Foglios were away at MagicCon in Las Vegas when this image was posted, so it may just be an indication that it is filler art.
  3. In the text on the page of the web comic for Monday, October 28, 2024 , the word "too" is misprinted as "to". It will be fixed on the comic web page at some point, so it is being fixed in this transcription now.
  4. The sign on the building is easier to read in the pencil sketch for the page for Monday, October 28, 2024, shown on the corresponding Patreon page, behind a paywall.
  5. Only a single Klaus is shown on this page, out of the crowd of dozens of duplicates that have been generated by some mysterious means.
  6. Agatha learned about the effect when interrogating a Black Squad soldier.
  7. Dal Maghiar may be referring to Gil as "the Baron", but Klaus was the one who set up the Black Squad (as far as we know). Gil had only heard of them when he ran into Dal and the others, so it seems likely Dal means Klaus.
  8. Kjarl and Othar made the power source previously .
  9. 9.0 9.1 The Rude Mechanicals are both present in front of Gil in the group with Agatha in the center of the large main panel of the comic for Wednesday, November 13, 2024, on top of their strange vehicle, but they are so "far away" they are hard to distinguish.
  10. Somehow, the time-stop device doesn't fall at all during the time it is unfrozen. It is not clear whether it is actively levitating or just being held up by the power of artistic license.
  11. 11.0 11.1 11.2 While the disguised members of the Vespiary Squad have shed their distinctive uniforms (which include a warrior slaver wasp skull worn as a helmet), they have retained their green goggles.
  12. This figure is in deep shadow on today's page (Monday, November 25, 2024) and cannot be made out easily, but is clearly revealed as a Lackya on the next page .
  13. This sound effect, in the lower right corner of the panel, is in dark red text against a dark background and cannot easily be discerned.
  14. Chakraborty's full name is revealed on the next page.
  15. युवती (Yuvati) is Hindi for 'young woman'.
  16. The page was in black and white because the Foglios were away this past weekend for the Laughing Dragon Magic the Gathering event in Houston. Phil got pages ready in advance, but Kaja said, on the Girl Genius Patreon page for Fri. & Mon. December 6 & 9, 2024 (behind a paywall), "I think Monday's might have to wait for colors until I'm home because Phil got the lines to Cheyenne a little late."
  17. The Lackya is unconscious and is slung over the shoulder of the Lopside Mo.
  18. This page has been posted with the number (012). The last two digits have been transposed from the correct page number, (021).
  19. The word is rendered as "guage" in the dialog balloon, but this is assumed to be a typo, since (even with a Jäger accent), it doesn't make sense for the word to be spelled that way deliberately.
  20. This incident took place not long ago as the group was finding their was to Engineering.
  21. As demonstrated by a confrontation quite early in the story.
  22. 22.0 22.1 22.2 The scenes from Mechanicsburg filler art pages for the week containing Christmas 2024 have a title in place of a page number. To avoid distorting the chronology table too much, an abbreviation will be used in the "page number" field and the full title will be given in a note; SoM = Scenes of Mechanicsburg.
  23. Title for the first scene: "Scenes of Mechanicsburg: The Monster Guild Carolers"
  24. The caroling monsters include an apparent wolfman, two-meter-tall Tyranosaurus rex-like dinosaur, lamia, and vampire (the red-head with big fangs). There are also some more idiosyncratic beings: a mostly faceless person (conveniently enough for caroling purposes, this entity's only facial feature is a mouth), a fuzzy purple creature whose huge mouth occupies most of his face which, in turn, makes up most of his body, and perched on fuzzy purple's head, an odd, green, somewhat toucan-like bird.
  25. The onlookers appear to be a Mechanicsburg family, standing outside their house, seemingly made up of a father, mother, young son, and slightly older sister, all of whom are enjoying the performance. The children stand in front of their beaming parents, the boy holding a tray of mugs and the girl a large bowl of something that looks like eggnog, with a ladle sticking out of it.
  26. 26.0 26.1 26.2 26.3 26.4 The title for this section is not from the Canon; that is, it is not from the Girl Genius website navigation menu. It was added for easier navigation within the chronology.
  27. Title for the second scene: "Scenes of Mechanicsburg: The Big Lady Decorating Contest"
  28. Assuming the guy in the background on the ladder is part of the group.
  29. The "Big Lady" referred to in the poster is one of giant statues of Agatha surrounding Mechanicsburg, created by Gil during the time Agatha was missing.
  30. Title for the third scene: "Scenes of Mechanicsburg: Boomticky's Toy Shop"
  31. Presumably Nepenthes Dulcis
  32. Possibly inspired by, but a good deal less frightening than, the giant version in Bill and Barry's nursery in Castle Heterodyne.
  33. At least there is a bottle shaped like a champagne bottle in an ice bucket on the small table.
  34. 34.0 34.1 Some time ago, in a previous scene, probably on Castle Wulfenbach, Seffie and Tarvek told Gil that their Grandmother was missing, apparently kidnapped.
  35. The are the same sounds that the Time-Stop Device made when it was first activated, except that they are in reverse order and the longer second (in this instance) sound, is "played" backwards.
  36. There are many small figures in the far distance who are impossible to identify visually. But, since they are near Gil's lab complex surrounding Mechanicsburg, they are probably Wulfenbach forces, Albia's forces, Agatha's forces or other allies, or Gil's technicians.
  37. This is an unplanned new page, based on an impromptu sketch by Phil and it is not certain exactly where it will be placed in the final volume.
  38. The word written on the chestnut roaster can be seen in full in panel 1 on the page for Wednesday, May 15, 2024.
  39. Presumably, this is supposed to be "JEWELRY" and Phil misspelled the word, as he has been known to do from time to time.
  40. The third letter, rendered as a 'G' here, might be a 'C'. A partial letter at the end, after the 'I', is not included here, but might be an 'L'; perhaps the name of the establishment is "Mongrill", punning on "Mongrel".
  41. "Up there", translated from Jägerspeak
  42. The same Dreen addresses Castle Heterodyne as "Architecture" much less ambiguously on a earier page: Friday, July 5, 2024 , panel 6.
  43. If the second word is "scorpia", it might intended as Latin for "scorpion"; the whole phrase "Es scorpia" might be intended as Latin for "You are a scorpion." There does seem to be a drawing of a scorpion on the building displaying the phrase in question.
  44. The final letter transcribed here seems likely to be an 'I' based on what we can see of it and how close it is to the following letter, only a small portion of which can be seen. Possibly this is Phil misspelling "potable" as "potible".
  45. 45.0 45.1 45.2 45.3 It is not certain that the Dreen called Dreen-2 and Dreen-3 here are the same individuals as the ones given those names on the previous page.
  46. In the memorable scene shown on the page dated Monday, April 8, 2024, in which Agatha first uses her staff on the Dreen and their appearances change (not only do they all look very different than before, but each one looks different from the others), the one who says "Rude" will be called Dreen-R in this wiki; the one who says "Weird", Dreen-W; and the one who says "'Bout time", Dreen-BT. At first, the three Dreen who have taken part in the main story were identified in the chronology of this wiki as Dreen #1, Dreen #2, and Dreen #3. But, inspired by seeing these Dreen identified as "Rude", "Weird", and "'Bout time" in discussions on the Girl Genius subreddit, it was decided to rename them as Dreen-R, Dreen-W, and Dreen-BT. The intention was to come up with unique (for searchability) names that still call to mind the scene where they speak those words. However, when the Dreen revert to their original appearance, it becomes very difficult to determine who is who. In those cases, any Dreen who can't be identified will be referred to using a hyphen (dash) and a number, for example, Dreen-2.
  47. Although this sound is made by the Hideous Extradimensional Being: Type 1, it is not in a dialog balloon as were the previous utterences of the creature, so it is categorized as a sound effect (SFX).
  48. Partly hidden by Zog's hat.
  49. This is presumably a misspelling of "restaurant".
  50. The text in this sign is unclear. If the first character isn't a 'J', then the last character could be anything, since it's mostly hidden.
  51. The silhouetted figure shown in the last panel for today's page, dated Monday, February 10, 2025, is revealed to be Captain Amit Patel on the next page, dated Wednesday, February 12, 2025.
  52. This is the first time Captain Patel has appeared in the main Girl Genius storyline.
  53. Prior to this appearance in a flashback on the page for Friday, February 14, 2025, we haven't seen Rudolf Selnikov since Friday, July 20, 2012, in volume 12, Agatha Heterodyne and the Siege of Mechanicsburg.
  54. Colonel Chakraborty and Boris may be referring to Agatha and the Other interchangeably on this page, since Agatha was intermittently possessed by the Other at this time, but references to the-Other-in-Agatha and direct references to the Other are listed separately in this entry.
  55. The full page title written in the usual page number position is "Knights and Jägers: Cheyenne's color reference".
  56. Othar addresses this beeping, booping clank as "Nefarious Machine" on the next page.
  57. All you can see of the Wasp eater are its ears, sticking up from behind Othar's dialog balloon in the bottom right corner of panel 5.
  58. Baron Klaus Wulfenbach is represented on this page as a eerily accurate tiny bust sculpture created by Zoing by chewing the sharp end of the pencil handed to him by Trelawney Thorpe.
  59. Agatha: "Franz, this is Gilgamesh Wulfenbach—son of Baron Wulfenbach, and heir to the Wulfenbach Empire. Despite this little scene—I am somewhat in love with him, so get him out of my town right now, before I utterly destroy him!", volume 13, page (010), posted Friday, January 11, 2013.
  60. This is previously hinted at by a statement made by the Dreen about the extradimensional being ("You see, it was necessary to stabilize its temporal pattern and bring it closer in order to—") before being interrupted by Agatha insisting that the monster's rampage be stopped, in panel 1 of the page posted on Friday, February 7, 2025.
  61. Above the sign is what appears to be a window made of multiple opaque panes or glass bricks. This window is part of a larger decorative panel or possibly a door.
  62. Parts of the phrase "NO OOZE" can also be seen in panels 2 and 7.
  63. This page was originally posted with the wrong page number: (065) instead of (064), as it should have been, but it has been fixed.
  64. All that can definitely be made out on this sign is a "D", probably followed by an "R" and , below that, an "SNA", possibly followed by an "I". The guess for the full text of the sign comes from panel 4 of the page posted on Monday, January 20, 2025.
  65. Admiral Llewlleyn's shortbread cropped up earier in the story when a conversation between Agatha and Seffie turned into a sort of Girl's Night Out. Llewlleyn's shortbread does seem to be "good stuff".
  66. The Hideous Extradimensional Being: Type 1 may be visible in the background of panel 1 on this page. Since this identification isn't certain, the same character name (with the link) is also presented in the "Names Used" section.
  67. 67.0 67.1 The "bizarre and mysterious time alteration device" has been known by many names in the Girl Genius saga. When first introduced, it was called Prende's Chronometric Lantern, but it is eventually revealed that it was originally known as Ninisinaa's Star (after its creator, Queen Ninisinaa) and was renamed Lady Heterodyne's Star after it was restored to its orginal form by Queen Albia of England.
  68. The Hideous Extradimensional Being: Type 1 may be shown in the background of panel 1 on this page, but since the image isn't clear it is also listed in the "Characters" section, marked as "Uncertain".
  69. 69.0 69.1 69.2 In their "default" form in world of Girl Genius, the Dreen are tantamount to undistinguishable from each other.
  70. 70.0 70.1 The SFX is reproduced three times, mostly overlapping, presumably because the Extra-Dimensional Dragon has three heads.
  71. This Wulfenbach clank is severely damaged and sputtering. This clank is probabaly the one smashed by Martellus, who was shown fighting one of these clanks on the page for Monday, February 10, 2025 .
  72. Hebineeza is shown all the way to the left in panel 5 of this page, but is listed last because the Jäger is far in the background.
  73. The blood is probably from one of the Knights of the Hunt, who was shot while attacking Wulfenbach clanks, shown on the page for Monday, December 9, 2024 .
  74. Klaus is listed first because, even though he is not visible in the first panel, his voice can be heard, so he is the first person to speak on the page.
