Walkthrough of Fisch[]

Please note that this isn't how you should EXACTLY play the game, this page is only meant to give people information about how the progression of the game usually goes. You don't have to follow this "guide" or "walkthrough" or whatever, again, you can play the game however you'd like. This guide is up to date as of 1.13.0. For a more in depth look into the functions of the game, you can check out the Mechanics, which goes over some of the actual abilities rods and game functions.

Starting the game[]

The Plastic Rod

CarbonRod

The Carbon Rod

Starting the game, which is possibly the slowest part of Fisch. When you join for the first time, you'll be spawned at Moosewood. You'll have to go up to the Merchant, which has the Flimsy Rod as the starter rod. Afterwards, you can talk to Pierre, an NPC who will give you information on how to catch fish! Catching fish isn't too hard after you get used to it, but at the start you might lose more than you'll catch, and that's okay. With time, you'll slowly learn to get better. The gist of it is to basically keep the white bar inside the blue line until the progress line reaches the other side.

After you keep catching fish, you'll then have to go to the Merchant and sell them. Every fish has a different price, depending on their Rarity, Weight and Mutations. Keep fishing and selling the fish. After you get enough money, you can buy a new rod! It's suggested to either buy the Plastic Rod if you don't have too much patience of using the starter rod, or you can save up for the Carbon Rod. When you get the Carbon Rod, you can start saving up for a boat! If you just want to sail and don't care about speed, you can easily get C$700 for the Rowboat. Alternatively, you can also buy the Surfboard. After you purchase your new boat, you can finally sail the seas! It's usually recommended to go to Roslit Bay, for it's good fish and the next rod you'll have to save up for, the Steady Rod. The best way to get the money for it is to simply fish in Roslit.

Midgame[]

Now that you have your Steady Rod, you're at the point where most people consider to be the Mid-Game of Fisch. With the Steady Rod, you can essentially catch any fish you'd like (not easily of course.). With your trusty Steady Rod, you can keep fishing in Roslit and try your luck catching the Manta Ray for some quick cash, or inside one of the recommended money making locations mentioned in this section. At this point you have multiple choices of how you should progress. You can either save up and get the Aurora Rod or the Mythical Rod. It is recommended to get Mythical rod first as it is easier to obtain. You could enchant it with Hasty, Resilient or Controlled. However, you could also get the Arctic Rod due to its surprisingly good stats for it's cost. It has a much higher max weight, making players eligible to catch bigger fish such as the Megalodon, but it depends. Once you've gotten either rod, it's time to start talking money.

There are a handful of place where you can grind money and XP, though in this point of the game, making money should be your top priority. Here are a handful of places, ordered from the places where you earn the most money and the places where you earn the least. These are gathered from the knowledge of many players who've played the game, and have experience fishing in each of these places.

  1. Grand Reef: Located near Forsaken Shores Ocean, the Grand Reef is the best place to make money in the game, as the mythical fish there sell for around 6k each with no mutations, as well as the legendary fish, which sell for around 3k.

    Grand Reef

They're relatively easy to get, even with mid-game rods, and fish in this location are prone to getting the Electric Mutation, which multiply the fish's value by 1.45x. The main downside to this is the amount of time it takes to successfully catch a fish. Although this can be improved with using the Steady Enchantment, it still takes a long time to catch fish. Despite this, it's recommended to fish here since it's relatively easy to reach the Grand Reef.
  2. Cryogenic Canal: Inside the icy confinements of Northern Expedition, Cryogenic Canal is another great place to grind some cash, as it's mythicals and legendary fish are also quite valuable and easy to obtain. However, the biggest downside to this place is the constant need for oxygen and temperature. While the user can buy a Winter Cloak to keep their temperature from lowering, they must buy an oxygen tank to increase their air supply.

The best they can buy is an Advanced Oxygen Tank, which lasts about ~1 night, depending on the area they fish inside. There's a specific area inside Cryogenic Canal that lets the player stay inside for much longer compared to the larger known area. If they can get to this area, their air supply lasts for nearly triple the amount, lasting about ~3 nights.
  3. The Depths: The Depths is a good place to start when grinding. It can be found inside Strange Whirlpools, where when the user jumps inside, they can find a vault that required the completed Bestiary of the Vertigo and obtaining

    The Depths

The Depths Key. After this, they get access to The Depths, which provides the player with a decent array of mythicals and legendaries to catch, which sell for a decent amount each. Occasionally, the player can also catch Ancient Depth Serpents, which you can Appraise to boost their value. The Depths is also the best place to get Enchant Relics, which is extremely useful for getting powerful Enchantments.
  4. Ancient Isle: Ancient Isle is a decent place to fish, although it's

somewhat difficult to fish for it's more valuable fish. It has a wide variety of rare fish to catch, including the elusive Megalodon, but is incredibly difficult to catch due to it's erratic movements. Fish like Mosasaurus, Dunkleosteus, and Helicoprion are fairly valuable fish that can be caught in this area, and fish with the Amber Mutation can be given to the Chiseler to have a chance of being Revitalized, which increase its value by 2.5x.
  5. Forsaken Shores Pond: This area used to be good for catching Captain's Goldfish, because before it used to be easy to catch them for a quick buck and make a large amount of XP quickly.

Although it's weirdly still alright, it's not as recommended as the mentioned locations where you can grind in to make money. Still, if you're new to the game and want to see for yourself, then you can go to Forsaken Shores to see for yourself.

By the time you've got the money for these rods, you should be at least Level 30. When you reach Level 30, you unlock the ability to talk to Merlin, which will sell you an Enchant Relic for C$11,000. Either you buy it, or you can fish it out of water anywhere. With the Relic, you can head to the Statue of Sovereignty, where you can pay Cole a fee of C$400 to enter the Keeper's Altar. When you get in the Altar, make sure it's night. The reason this is important is because you can enchant your rods. There are multiple Enchantments, and each of them have a different buff to the rod you have equipped. It's best to keep them for the later rods, like the Mythic and Aurora. After you get either of those two rods, you can start trying to catch new fish on the map, slowly finishing the Bestiary. After that, you can save up more money to buy the GPS and the Basic Diving Gear.

Late Game[]

Once you get your final mid game rod you are now ready to get the Trident Rod. There are two ways to get this rod

  1. Completing the entire Desolate Deep Bestiary and then obtaining 5 Enchant Relics then getting 150k C$ to purchase the Trident Rod.
  2. Asking for someone else to open the Trident room door, you will still need 150k C$ to buy the Trident Rod. (Note: depending on the person you may need to give them the Enchant Relics.)

In terms of money, the Desolate Deep isn't the best spot, given the fact the Legendary and Mythic fish here are rarer then anywhere else. While you could get some pretty good amounts if you fish for a long time, it's usually faster to get quick cash in Grand Reef and the Cryogenic Canal. The Brine Pool is neat if you just need the bestiary, but other than that's it's very lackluster when it comes to money, not to mention that catching the Spectral Serpent is considered to be one of, if not, the hardest fish in the game to catch due to its extremely unpredictable movements.

There is a common controversy with Trident Rod, the main one being that its max weight is 6,000kg and its control bar being smaller than most rods. However, this is not the case, as Trident comes with a variety of benefits that far outweigh these doubts. It goes as the following:

  • Atlantean Passive: 30% chance to give a fish the Atlantean Mutation, which multiplies its value by 3x. this alone makes it one of the best and consistent money making rods in the game. you make good money with it, and other rods like Rod of the Depths doesn't even have a Mutation passive, which makes less money.
  • Stabbing Passive: even though it has low resilience and control, its stabbing passive makes up for it. it goes absolutely berserk when you catch mythicals and legendaries. it chains like crazy and easily fills up the progress bar, even with tough catches like Ancient Depth Serpent.
  • High Luck: compared to Rod of the Depths and most money making rods, trident has by far the best luck for its stage (not including Heaven's Rod). 150% is already good, and helps you catch some of the rarer fish.

Please keep in mind that you don't need to catch super big fish to make money. Fish in places like Cryogenic Canal and Grand Reef especially prove that point. you can make hundreds of thousands, if not, maybe even a million or two using trident. Besides, most of the more valuable fish like Ancient Depth Serpent hardly weigh over 1,000kg, let alone 6,000kg. Overall, Trident is an extremely formidable rod for its standing, and can hold its ground for fishing.

Endgame[]

NoLifeRodOnAPlayer

The No-Life Rod

Endgame usually starts at the Trident Rod. Once you have it, you can start to save up for the Rod of the Depths OR skip it entirely and go for Heaven's Rod. Best way to do this is to fish in Cryogenic Canal. If you aim to go for Rod of the Depths, you'll need 2 Enchant Relics, one being a Hexed and the other being an Abyssal, which you can get by either appraising or fishing in The Depths with the Abyssal Enchantments on any rod. However, it's possible to skip ROTD and go straight for Heaven's Rod with Trident Rod. To do this, you can grind in Cryogenic Canal, which gives the most XP (aside from Grand Reef) for the required 1,750,000C$ to buy the rod (technically 2.150,000C$ to obtain the Red Energy Crystal and Yellow Energy Crystal, more information on that on their pages). You'll need to get all 4 required crystals as well, those being the Red Energy Crystal, Yellow Energy Crystal, Blue Energy Crystal, and Green Energy Crystal. After you get all of them, you can go into Heaven's Rod's vault and purchase the rod. After you get ROTD or Heaven's Rod , you can get Clever on either of them to get the No-Life Rod or Abyssal to make money. Just fish at the Ancient Isle Waterfall for easy EXP points. To speed up the grinding process here, you can use Aurora Totems to get the Mosasaurs easier. This is all you'll need in terms of rods, as all the new and craftable rods are very bad compared to NLR.

Notes[]

  • The No-Life Rod is ONE OF the best rods in the game, as most of the newer rods are either mid-late game. Best enchants are Quality, Abyssal, Steady or Divine.
  • Another exceptionally outstanding rod is Heaven's Rod, which has amazing stats and a Mutation passive that has a 15% for a fish to have the Heavenly Mutation, multiplying the fish value by 5x.
    • Compared to No-Life Rod, this rod is better for making money, but NLR has the speed to make grinding XP much quicker compared to Heaven. Since it already has insane lure speed, you can enchant it with either Clever for even more XP or Abyssal to boost its money making capabilities.
  • Compared to the craftable rods, NLR is way easier and quicker to get. It's stats are insane, even after multiple nerfs.
  • Before heading to the Desolate Deep, you can go the other way, towardsthe Desolate Pocket to purchase the Super Flippers, making traversing the Deep faster.
