Walkthrough of Fisch[]

Please note that this isn't how you should EXACTLY play the game, this page is only meant to give people information about how the progression of the game usually goes. You don't have to follow this "guide" or "walkthrough", you can play the game however you'd like. This guide is up to date as of 1.61.0. For a more in depth look into the functions of the game, you can check out the Mechanics, which goes over some of the actual abilities fishing rods and game functions.

Early-Game[]

The Plastic Rod

The Plastic Rod

The Carbon Rod

The Carbon Rod

Starting the game, which is possibly the slowest part of Fisch. When you join for the first time, you'll be spawned at Moosewood. You'll have to go up to the Merchant, which has the Flimsy Rod as the starter rod. Afterwards, you can talk to Pierre, an NPC who will give you information on how to catch fishes. Catching fishes aren't too hard after you get used to it, but at the start you might lose more than you'll catch. With time, you'll slowly learn to get better. The gist of it is to basically keep the white bar inside the blue line until the progress line reaches the other side. While shaking, turn on UI is a way to fish faster, if you don't even want to click you can either choose a rod with higher lure speed or enchant it with Hasty, Swift, Quality enchantment. (However, it is just better to save relics for the midgame rods.)

Fishing minigame

After you keep catching fish, you'll then go to the Merchant and sell them. Every fish has a different price, depending on their Rarity, Weight and Mutations. Keep fishing and selling the fish. After you get enough C$, you go ahead and buy a new rod. It's suggested to either buy the Plastic Rod for a cheaper approach, or you can save up for the Carbon Rod. When you get the Carbon Rod, you can start saving up for a boat. If you just want to sail and don't mind about speed, you can easily get C$700 for the Rowboat. Alternatively, you can also buy the Surfboard for C$1,500. After you purchase your brand new boat, you can finally sail to other locations. It's usually recommended to go to Roslit Bay, since it has good fishes. Then the next rod you'll have to save up for is the Steady Rod. The best way to get the money for it is to simply fish in Roslit. But it is not recommended to grind in Roslit with a bad rod, you could keep grinding in Moosewood until you gain C$7,000 and immediately buy the Steady rod. Or you can redeem the currently working Codes.

Mid-game[]

Now that you have your Steady Rod, you're at the point that where most people consider to be the Mid-Game of Fisch. With the Steady Rod, you can essentially catch any fish you'd like (not easily of course). With your Steady Rod, you can keep fishing in Roslit Bay and try your luck catching the Manta Ray for some quick cash or inside one of the recommended money-making locations (Volcanic Vents, Kraken Pool, The Depths). At this point you have multiple choices of how you should progress. However, you should go for Depthseeker Rod or Champions Rod due to their good early-game stats for the low cost. Once you've gotten either rod, it's time to start grinding money and XP.

There are a handful of places where you can grind C$ and XP, though in this point of the game, making money should be your top priority. Here are a handful of places, ordered from the places where you earn the most money the most to the places where you earn the least. These are gathered from the knowledge of many players who've played the game and have experience fishing in each of these places.

Volcanic Vents (entrance)

Volcanic Vents (entrance)

1: Volcanic Vents: The first layer of the Mariana's Veil, accessed by using the Submarine to travel down into the Mariana's Veil, then traversing the vents to reach to the fishing area. You may think your unable to fish here because of the lava, but do not worry, this area is actually accessible by all rods.

As of currently, it is considered by many players to the best place to farm money during the day, as the Legendary/Mythical sell for 2,080C$ and 7,312C$ respectively and are VERY COMMON at day. However, it is not the easiest accessible location, and it is MANDATORY to first obtain the Glimmerfin Suit, as the temperature is way too hot to be inside of the vents to effectively grind forever suitless. The fish here also do put up somewhat of a fight with -60% progress speed, so make sure to have good resilience/control to effectively farm. Lastly, there is a very rare chance to catch the Magma Leviathan, which is needed to advance further past Calm Zone's gate.

Atlantis (entrance, Kraken Pool located under)

Atlantis (entrance, Kraken Pool located under)

2: Kraken Pool: Located at the bottom of Atlantis, is accessed by completing all 4 Atlantis puzzles. It is a good place to farm here because the legendaries and mythicals sell for 3040C$ and 5770C$, it even hosts the [[The KrakenThe Kraken]], which can be appraised for more money/used in the future to progress through Mariana's veil's Abyssal Zenith. This place however is sometimes not the best option however due to the fish here being more difficult to hook/taking a while to traverse to.

The Depths

The Depths

3: The Depths: Located past the entrance gate to Vertigo, is access through completing the Vertigo bestiary, and traversing the obby leading to The Depths. This area is relatively good for farming, considering that there is an increased chance of obtaining Enchant Relics, (also needed in the future to unlock Rod Of The Exalted One). The legendaries/mythicals here sell for over 1150C$+ and 2250C$+, they are also easy to catch/hook. Sometimes, you may come across a event called the Absolute Darkness, which grants the chance to catch the exotic Ancient Depth Serpent, can be appraised to sell more too. This are however nowadays considered mediocre, due to the fish listed above being almost as common/sell even more, but this place still has its niches.

By the time you've got the money for these rods, you should be at least Level 30+. When you reach Level 30, you unlock the ability to talk to Merlin, which will sell you an Enchant Relic for 11,000C$. Either you buy it, or you can fish it out of water anywhere. With the Relic, you can head to the Statue of Sovereignty, where you can pay Cole a fee of 400C$ to enter the Keeper's Altar. When you get in the Altar, make sure it's nighttime. This is required to be able to enchant rods, (go to the Enchantments page for more info). If you go at daytime, fish off one of the ledges to pass the time or use a Sundial Totem located at a secret cave in Sunstone. Although it is not recommended, you can also buy the Kings Rod here, located to the left of the elevator next to a skeleton.

Late-mid Game[]

Once you get your final mid game rod you are now ready to get the Trident Rod. There are two ways to get this rod

  1. Completing the entire Desolate Deep Bestiary, obtaining 5 Enchant Relics, and then getting 150kC$ to purchase the Trident Rod.
  2. Asking for someone else to open the Trident room door, you will still need 150kC$ to buy the Trident Rod. (Note: depending on the person you may need to give them the Enchant Relics.)

In terms of money, the Desolate Deep isn't the best spot, given the fact the Legendary and Mythical fish here are rarer than anywhere else. While you could get some pretty good amounts if you fish for a long time, it's usually faster to get quick cash in Volcanic Vents/Atlantean Storm. The Brine Pool is neat if you just need the bestiary, but other than that's it's very lackluster when it comes to money, not to mention that catching the Spectral Serpent is considered to be one of, if not, the hardest fish in the game to catch due to its extremely unpredictable movements.

There is a common controversy with Trident Rod, the main one being that its max weight is 6,000kg and its control bar being smaller than most rods. However, this is not the case, as Trident comes with a variety of benefits that far outweigh these doubts. It goes as the following:

Atlantean Passive[]

30% chance to give a fish the Atlantean Mutation, which multiplies its value by 3x. This alone makes it one of the best and consistent money-making rods in the game. You make good money with it, and other rods like Rod of the Depths doesn't even have a Mutation passive, which makes less money.

Stabbing Passive[]

even though it has low resilience and control, its stabbing passive makes up for it. It goes absolutely berserk when you catch mythicals and legendaries. It can stab more effectively when catching faster fish, easily fills up the progress bar, and even with tough catches like Ancient Depth Serpent.

High Luck[]

compared to Rod of the Depths and most money-making rods, Trident has by far the best luck for its stage (not including Heaven's Rod). 150% is already good, and helps you catch some of the rarer fish.

Please keep in mind that you don't need to catch super big fish to make money. Fish in places like Volcanic Vents and Atlantean Storm especially prove that point. You can make hundreds of thousands, if not, maybe even a million or two using Trident. Besides, most of the more valuable fish like Ancient Depth Serpent hardly weigh over 1,000kg, let alone 6,000kg. Overall, Trident is an extremely formidable rod for its standing and can hold its ground for fishing.

Alternatively, the Volcanic Rod can be used as a replacement for Trident Rod, obtained for 300k C$ at the first layer of Mariana's Veil.

This rod boasts much more better stats than Trident Rod (outside of luck, which can be alleviated by Merlin's luck boost), and a passive which could be more effective than Tridents also.

Stats:[]

30% lure speed, 90% luck, 0.1 control, 15% resilience, infkg. This is quite better Tridents stats except luck, this rod is also 2x more expensive at a cost and doesn't have stabbing.

Ashen Fortune passive[]

20% chance to give a fish the Ashen Fortune Mutation, multiplies its value by 5x. This in practice is better than Trident's Atlantean mutation.

Good Resilience/infkg:[]

This allows the rod to be much more versatile when catching fish from any location, making fish such as the Megalodon, Blue Whale catchable, however, take into consideration that it doesn't have any stabbing mechanics.

End-game[]

Endgame usually starts at the Trident Rod/Volcanic Rod. Once you have it, you can start to save up for the following rods:

  • Kraken Rod: Located at Kraken Pool, similar to Heaven's rod in terms of farming, but has the chances to duplicate fish with the highest value mutation in the game Tentacle Surge. (1,333,333C$)
  • Zeus Rod: Located at the Zeus Pool, it has a very good passive of creating a thunderstorm area which causes all fish to be mutated with the Electric Shock mutation at a 95% chance, this is the best rod for farming until you can obtain the Ethereal Prism Rod. (1,700,000C$)
  • Ethereal Prism Rod: Located at Calm Zone, this is the rod with the greatest C$ farming capabilities, with a WHOPPING 50% chance of applying the Prismize mutation (8x sell value). However, this comes at the cost of being the most expensive rod in the game at a staggering 15,000,000C$. It also has very good stats to back it up as well.
  • Rod of The Forgotten Fang: Achieved by obtaining 750 levels and use of the required materials to craft (see page for more), every 3 perfect catches in a row summons a Megalodon on the 4th catch, which doubles the fish and increases its rarity. This however only has a drawback of being unable to obtain any secret fish unless you hooked the secret on the 4th catch.
  • Rod Of The Exalted One: Obtained by collecting multiple mutations on relics (see page for more info), has good stats along with a passive that lets you catch the valuable Exalted Relic easier.

All of these rods listed are normally what players aim to achieve after obtaining enough EXP/C$ and are generally considered the top recommended out of all rods, the best of these is Zeus Rod and Ethereal Prism Rod.

You may also access the Calm Zone/Veil of the Forsaken once obtaining all 3 exotics required to open the gate, which allows you to further catch rare fish such as the Crystallized Seadragon and Scylla.

It is recommended grinding at Challenger's Deep for EXP, since the Legendary/Mythical give a ton of EXP + are very common during the night. (2000 base EXP for the legendary and 2800 base EXP for the mythical respectively.)

Though, if you have Calm Zone unlocked and completed the Veil of the Forsaken's Bestiary, you can try to fish up the Crystallized Seadragon, which is easy to hook up and provides around +40,000 EXP alongside great value (around 25,000+ on average). If you want to grind here for great cash, it is recommended to use rods with either Steady or if they already have a natural progress speed boost (such as the Tempest Rod or Challenger's Rod.) You can also use great mutation passives to make the Crystallized Seadragon worth way more and more efficient upon grinding. Though, if you do not have good resilience or good with the fishing minigame, it should be more recommended to use Steady on your rods. The normal fish are also extremely easy to catch if you are looking to get those also, and they give high EXP amounts.

Notes[]

  • The Ethereal Prism Rod ONE OF IF NOT the best rod in the game, as most of the newer rods are either mid-late game. Best enchants for it are Steady/Sea Overlord, this is because you can use a bait such as Insect to gain instant hooks.
  • The No-Life Rod was not listed here due to being generally outclassed in both its traits (farming and EXP), however it is still a very effective rod in terms of general catching.
  • Seraphic Rod is also not listed here due to the fact its obtainable at level 1000, its passive isn't as good as it was pre-nerf, however.
  • Before heading to the Desolate Deep, you can go the other way, towards the Desolate Pocket to purchase the Super Flippers, making traversing the Deep faster OR could also go to the Desolate Pocket to get the Tidebreaker, though it isn't very worth it if you just started midgame.
  • It is highly advised to buy the Advanced Glider at the top of Northern Expedition for faster travelling.
  • Calm Zone/Veil of the Forsaken wasn't listed here due to them being out of reach for most midgame/lategame players.
