"Fisching 24/7/365. Are you okay?"
Overview
The No-Life Rod is a Rod that can be obtained by reaching Level 500. When reaching level 500 a text will pop out saying:
"An evil presence unlike any other lurks within you.."
Because of its exceptional Lure Speed, inf Max kg, and having one of the highest Control stats in the game, makes this rod one of the best in the game. Many people have pointed out that the rod is not worth its requirement after the buff of Heaven's Rod. But this is arguably incorrect, as when you enchant the rod with Enchantments and use certain Baits, it's possible for this rod to be an even better money maker than Heaven's Rod due to it's passive mutation chance. However, this doesn't mean that it's better than Heaven's Rod entirely, as both rods have very exceptional stats and can be used equally.
Passives
Name | Overview | Visual |
---|---|---|
30% chance for the Hexed mutation to be applied to fish/items caught. | ||
Chance for the fish to be stabbed like with the Trident Rod, a bit weaker with less stun. Similar to the Piercing Enchant's Ability |
Enchantments
- For C$ and main usage, Abyssal or preferably Quantum (10% Abyssal mutation (3.5x sell value) and a chance for larger fish)/25% Subspace mutation (5x sell value).
- For luck improvement, Lucky (+20% luck), Divine (+45% luck), or best of all Immortal (+75% luck).
- For overall stat improvement and instant lure times without bait, Quality (+15% lure, +15% luck and +5% resilience).
- For bestiary completion or to increase the number of fish caught in a short time, the Steady enchantment is recommended paired with bait.
- For XP, Insight (1.5x xp) or preferably Clever (2.25x xp).
Notes
- The best bait to pair with this rod for general usage is Worm or Seaweed, as they are relatively easy to obtain from Bait Crates and have lower preferred luck whilst being able to instant catch fish.
- The Hexed ability is essentially a 50% C$ boost.
- At the same time, the player also unlocks the crafting recipe for Celestial Rod, which isn't as good compared to No-Life Rod.
Trivia
- The message that appears when you receive this rod is speculated to be a reference for the Eye of Cthulhu from Terraria's summon chat message that says, "You feel an evil presence watching you...".
- The No-Life Rod has the 4th largest catch bar size in game.
- The No-Life Rod's appearance is speculated to be based off a Keyblade from the Kingdom Hearts video game series.
- It can pierce like the Trident Rod however it is less powerful and has a shorter stun.
