"OMG Issue #2", written onscreen as "OMG!", is the sixteenth episode of the Disney Channel and Marvel Animation series Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, and is the season one finale.

Synopsis[]

Moon Girl faces her greatest challenge yet and puts everything on the line.

Plot[]

Lunella sits devastated outside her destroyed lab as Beyonder informs the audience about what happened in the previous episode. Lunella is elated to find Devil is still alive and well with Casey in tow and catches them up on what happened. They regroup at Casey's house where she reveals that they cannot call S.H.I.E.L.D. because she wasted Agent Hill's time. They manage to figure out where the Enclave is located and Casey presents Lunella with a new sequin stealth suit after her old one was destroyed. They head to North Brother Island and find the Enclave base right away with Lunella sneaking inside to rescue Mimi while Casey and Devil cause a distraction outside for the rest of the Enclave agents.

Mimi attempts to speak to Morlak's better side, but he ignores her, telling her that he is tired of being overlooked. Lunella arrives to free Mimi and she reveals that she knew all along that Lunella was Moon Girl, to the point that she would sneak into her lab when she was not around to clean it. Lunella makes Mimi realize that she had do so much for her family after leaving the Enclave, but Morlak returns and opens the portal, bringing three giant monsters (Woolly Kaiju, Technosaur, and Octobeast) inside that he can control using a whistle. Lunella, Mimi, and later, Casey and Devil all team up to battle the monsters and send them back through three separate portals.

Morlak is angered over being defeated and attempts to override the machine, refusing to give up. The portal ends up opening and sucking everything in. Mimi attempts to rescue Morlak, but he is sucked away. Lunella manages to locate two switches that when pushed will close the portal, but Mimi deduces that someone needs to be on the other side in order for it to work. Lunella tells Mimi that she loves her and jumps through the portal, both pushing their buttons, and closing it for good. Mimi, Casey and Devil are at a loss over what just happened, but Mimi starts picking up equipment off the floor and tells Casey and Devil that they are going to get her back.

In a post-credits scene, Lunella opens her eyes and wonders out loud where she is.

Trivia[]

  • On April 12, 2023, the episode was released early on Disney+.
  • This episode reveals that Mimi knew that Lunella was Moon Girl all along. This was hinted in the first episode, "Moon Girl Landing", during the battle with Aftershock. It’s also because of the fact that she was the original Moon Girl.
  • This episode was foreshadowed in "Skip This Ad...olescence" when Lunella briefly timeskips to events from this story. However, in that flash-forward, she was wearing her trademark outfit in her battle with Morlak instead of Casey’s custom made outfit when it actually happened.
  • This is the first episode in the series to continue after the previous one.
  • The season ends on a cliffhanger.
  • The episode's post-credits scene is reminiscent of the one from the Loki episode "The Nexus Event".
  • Steve Loter revealed that the production number is 120 because they initially had 20 episodes planned for the season. The missing 4 episodes were either cut or combined with released episodes or are probably meant to air on a different time.[1]
