The Young One was in the mood to bake and was craving orange spice cookies. Several years ago, she had baked an orange spice cookie as a gift for a friend. She said the cookies made the house smell like Christmas.
Who am I to argue when someone wants to cook or bake? She couldn't find the recipe she had used, but found a similar one. Orange Spice Cookies
The baking cookies made the house smell like Christmas and were insanely delicious. The sugar coated outside lovely and crisp and the molasses made the inside soft and tender.

The young one is a great baker and I can relate to the house smelling like Christmas, too. It sure looks festive at your home. Those cookies must have gone well with your tea, too. Thank for sharing these cookies, the recipe, and your tea in that festive snow person mug with us for T this Tuesday, dear CJ.
ReplyDeleteWith everyone home, it feels like Christmas
DeleteThose cookies sound yummy, enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThey are, and I'm told perfect with eggnog
DeleteYUM! Nice to have an 'in house' baker! :)
ReplyDeleteIndeed. Now, if only the cook would turn into the bottle washer, it would be perfect.
DeleteI love molasses so these cookies sound delicious.
ReplyDeleteHappy T
They are really quite nice
DeleteThat cookie recipe sounds delish! I am glad that you and your daughter can spend some quality time together. ENJOY!
ReplyDeleteIt's so good to have her back home. Even for a little while
DeleteAngie and Joe are as bad as "Grayson," the name the Humane Society gave Squiggles. That was also the name they used for his chip. I had to change it when I registered him. If yours are chipped, you will need to register them, if you haven't already done so. Usually humane societies/shelters chip the animal before it leaves the premises.
ReplyDeleteThe names were changed when we brought the babies home back in October
DeleteThe cookies look good and remind me of what the Archway molasses cookies look like. The recipe sounds like it'd make the perfect Christmas cookie.
ReplyDeleteHappy T Tuesday
It’s a wonderful basic recipe that can be changed up with additions. I think it would be nice with chocolate chips or raisins
DeleteI like to add a bit of orange to my spice cookies too. The youngest has great taste, I must say. Smile. And they do look delicious. Hope you are enjoying your company and happy T day too. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteIt’s so nice to have her home

ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
The snowman mug is an oldie, but goodie. Year round 😺
DeleteDelicious looking cookies! I love those flavors.
ReplyDeleteHave a great New Year’s celebration.
best… mae at maefood.blogspot.com
They are really good.
DeleteThose cookies look and sound delicious. But I ate too much over Christmas, so I will pass. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteChristmas doesn't end until Jan. 6 😉
DeleteThey sound yummy even to me!
ReplyDeleteAll we have for the smell is... TP. Not kidding, post to come.
Can't wait!
DeleteThe cookies sound and look fabulous! I may have to try them next Christmas. Love your festive cup and table too. Happy New Year and happy T-day, CJ!!!
ReplyDeleteI think you'll like the recipe
DeleteWoah, that looks really good! I can almost smell them! I wish I could make them (but no molasses available here). You are lucky to have a Young One that can bake.
ReplyDeleteHappy (belated) T-Day,
Lisca
It was a nice treat for her to bake
DeleteOrange spice cookies would indeed make it smell like Xmas, how wonderful that aroma is. I have some Xmas essential oil that has a similar scent and it just fills the house with the most Christmassy scent. Hope you enjoyed your cookies. Warm Winter Wishes and Happy T Day Elle/EOTC xx
ReplyDeleteI have essential oils that make the house smell like Christmas, but have been reading that some essential oils are toxic to kitties. Since the babies arrived at the end of October, I haven't diffused any of my essential oils.
