T Stands for Cookie

The Young One was in the mood to bake and was craving orange spice cookies. Several years ago, she had baked an orange spice cookie as a gift for a friend. She said the cookies made the house smell like Christmas.

Who am I to argue when someone wants to cook or bake? She couldn't find the recipe she had used, but found a similar one. Orange Spice Cookies

The baking cookies made the house smell like Christmas and were insanely delicious. The sugar coated outside lovely and crisp and the molasses made the inside soft and tender.

Drop by hosts, Bleubeard and Elizabeth’s blog to find out what the rest of the T gang is up to. If you want to play, include a beverage or beverage container in your post. Don’t forget to link your blog from Bleubeard and Elizabeth’s page.

  1. The young one is a great baker and I can relate to the house smelling like Christmas, too. It sure looks festive at your home. Those cookies must have gone well with your tea, too. Thank for sharing these cookies, the recipe, and your tea in that festive snow person mug with us for T this Tuesday, dear CJ.

    1. Indeed. Now, if only the cook would turn into the bottle washer, it would be perfect.

  5. Angie and Joe are as bad as "Grayson," the name the Humane Society gave Squiggles. That was also the name they used for his chip. I had to change it when I registered him. If yours are chipped, you will need to register them, if you haven't already done so. Usually humane societies/shelters chip the animal before it leaves the premises.

  6. The cookies look good and remind me of what the Archway molasses cookies look like. The recipe sounds like it'd make the perfect Christmas cookie.

    1. It’s a wonderful basic recipe that can be changed up with additions. I think it would be nice with chocolate chips or raisins

  15. Woah, that looks really good! I can almost smell them! I wish I could make them (but no molasses available here). You are lucky to have a Young One that can bake.
    Happy (belated) T-Day,

  16. Orange spice cookies would indeed make it smell like Xmas, how wonderful that aroma is. I have some Xmas essential oil that has a similar scent and it just fills the house with the most Christmassy scent. Hope you enjoyed your cookies. Warm Winter Wishes and Happy T Day Elle/EOTC xx

    1. I have essential oils that make the house smell like Christmas, but have been reading that some essential oils are toxic to kitties. Since the babies arrived at the end of October, I haven't diffused any of my essential oils.
