William Sanford Pennington was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. He was nominated by President James Madison on January 8, 1816. He was confirmed by the Senate on January 9, 1816, and received commission on January 16, 1816.[1] He served until his death on September 17, 1826. Pennington was succeeded in this position by William Rossell.
