William G. Bassler (1938-present) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and a New Jersey Superior Court judge.

Bassler was nominated to the District of New Jersey by President George H.W. Bush on June 14, 1991, to a seat vacated by Stanley Brotman; he was confirmed by the Senate on September 12, 1991, and received commission four days later. He assumed senior status on March 6, 2005, and retired on August 31, 2006.[1] Bassler was succeeded in this position by Noel Hillman.
