William Eli Baker (1873-1954) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia.[1]

He received a recess appointment President Warren Harding on April 4, 1921 to replace Alston Gordon Dayton. On April 14th, he was nominated. He was confirmed by the Senate on May 3rd of that year, and received commission the same day. From 1948 to 1954, he was the chief judge. On April 3, 1954, he assumed senior status. He served until his death on June 4, 1954.[1]
