Joshua Miller (Democratic Party) is a member of the Rhode Island State Senate, representing District 28. He assumed office in 2007. His current term ends on January 7, 2025.
Miller (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the Rhode Island State Senate to represent District 28. He won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
On June 18, 2024, Miller announced he would not seek re-election to the Rhode Island State Senate District 28. [1]
Biography
Miller attended the University of Rhode Island in 1978. His professional experience includes being a partner in the business Hot Club since 1983 and as the owner of Trinity Brewhouse since 1993.[2]

Senate
Elections for the Rhode Island State Senate took place in 2014. A primary election took place on September 9, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 25, 2014. Incumbent Joshua Miller was unopposed in the Democratic primary and was unchallenged in the general election.[7][8][9]
Lieutenant Governor
Miller considered running for Rhode Island Lieutenant Governor in 2014, but in July 2013 announced he would seek re-election to the state senate instead.
"I greatly appreciate all those who encouraged me to run, but I concluded that there is a lot of work I still want to accomplish in the Rhode Island Senate. I am honored to represent the residents of Cranston and Providence in District 28 and I plan to run for re-election next year," he stated.[10]
2012
Miller won re-election in District 28. He was unopposed in the Democratic primary on September 11. Robert J. Clarkin ran unopposed in the Republican primary. Miller defeated Clarkin in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[11][12][13]
2010
Miller was re-elected to District 28 in 2010. He defeated Republican Donald Normandin and independent Deloris Issler in the November 2 general election. He was unopposed in the September 14 Democratic primary.[14][15]

On November 4, 2008, Miller was re-elected to the 28th District Seat in the Rhode Island State Senate.[16] Miller raised $30,822 for his campaign, while Clarkin raised $715.[17]
