  • Working together, getting things done. My hallmark of my 7 years in the Senate, and 8 terms in the House prior.
  • A lot can done if we don't care who gets the credit. Too much partisanship and ego distract from actually serving the citizens who rely on our work.
  • Ethics and trust matter. One's word is key and a good reputation is the base for accomplishing the things that really matter.

Independence and quality of life for persons with disabilities and seniors.
Educational success for all, all ages. Preschool, gradeschool, highschool, college.
Health care--quality, access is key. Affordability.
Mental health.
Clean water, clean air.
Good transportation systems, both roads and transit.
Safe neighborhoods.
Efficiency in government--no waste, fraud, or abuse.
Support for veterans, police, firefighters.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Minnesota

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
