Big Brother Célébrités 3 is the third season of Celebrity Big Brother in Canada.
Background[]
After two successful celebrity editions, Bell Media confirmed on June 9, 2022 that another season of the show would air in the winter of 2023.[1]
The House[]
Twists[]
- Five Player Power of Veto: Introduced in Big Brother Canada 7, the Head of Household was not eligible to participate in the Power of Veto competition. Only the two nominees and three housemates chosen by random draw would participate. The Head of Household would then be eligible to play once there were only five houseguests left in the house.
- Silver Power of Veto: On Week 10, once there were only 5 housemates left in the game, the Golden Power of Veto was replaced with the Silver Power of Veto. Unlike Big Brother 3 (US)'s Silver POV, the POV holder was not immune to becoming the replacement nominee. Only the vetoed nominee was safe.
- Archives: During the first week of the game, a massive door was found with 4 slots to insert blocks. Every time the door lights up, 1-4 people would have access to the Archives, a secret room, where a task can be found. If done successfully, the player would then receive an advantage in the game. Otherwise, they would eat slop until someone else succeeded. While the other housemates did not have access to the room, they were still alerted on whether or not the housemate succeeds or fails.
- Red Blocks: An extension to the Archives twist, Red Blocks started appearing during Week 5. They could be obtained from being on the block (either as an initial nominee or a replacement nominee) or during the Week 6 Power of Veto competition for placing at least 5 blocks. For the Archives task of Week 6, a Red Block is required to enter the Archives.
- Silver Blocks: On Week 10, silver blocks were introduced. For every Head of Household or Power of Veto challenge won, housemates would receive one Silver Block. In order to participate in the final Archives challenge, an housemate would need 4 silver blocks to enter.
- Traps: On Week 11, in order to receive an advantage in the final Archives challenge, each housemate would receive the name of another housemate that they will need to trap by being together in a specific room at a specific time without being trapped in return.
- Counter-Attack: The evicted players of Week 2 and Week 3 faced in a duel. The winning player returned back the game.
- Chain Reaction: Week 4 had a double eviction where two housemates were evicted instead of one. However, unlike a regular Double Eviction, the evictee was determined by a "Chain of Safety" selection process. Beginning with the winner of the first challenge, each housemate would select another contestant to save until two are left unselected. They then competed for their place in the game in a second challenge to determine who went home. The winner of the second challenge then received immunity for the following week.
- Red Week: During Week 6, it was announced that the Head of Household would nominate three people instead of two. In addition, the "Choice" picks were removed during the Power of Veto draw.
- Red Power of Veto: Players also competed for the Red Power of Veto during that week. The winner was forced to use the Power of Veto on one of the three nominees.
- Invisible Week: Week 7 was the "invisible week", featuring both an Invisible HOH and Invisible Veto:
- Invisible HOH: In Week 7, the HOH was invisible, meaning that no one else knew who was HOH except for that person. Since no one knew who the HOH was, they could only compete in the Veto competition if they were picked and they were allowed to compete in the following HOH competition, but still could not cast an eviction vote that week.
- Invisible Veto: Also during Week 7, the Veto Holder was invisible, meaning that no one else knew who was the Veto Holder except for the winner, but they were allowed to tell people if they wanted to do so. Since no one knew who the Veto Holder was, they anonymously made their decision.
