Mr Zwicker seems like a nice guy and had many interesting things to say imo.

Some of his – and your- remarks regarding the Berlin Reichstags-fire of 27th febr.1933 though seemed to me a bit the classic approach that when it comes to Nazis/Hitler interestingly claims apparently can simply be made/accepted without need for proof and made me wonder – what exactly was/is the research that his/your theory/claim is based upon that this was a Nazi-false flag?

The remarks were in detail – paraphrased-:

“First much later it was discovered that the event had been entirely different”

-This seems simply factually incorrect, actually rather a complete inversion of the time line.
Infact at the very same time (febr. 27/28) that the newspapers/media in Germany pointed out that the presumed perpetrator (Van der Lubbe) had communist connections, the communist organisations both in Germany and Western Europe launched an impressive media campaign countering this by claiming exactly that, namely that it had been a Nazi false flag masterminded by Göbbels or Göring instead.

And exactly this was ironically also employd as argument intensely during the following main court-trial (later in 1933) by the defendant side, so infact everything but “discovered much later on”.

It actually was that very “Nazi false flag” story that was immediately brought up and widely held and propagated during the trial and worldwide again after Germany`s defeat, with numerous historians and media/movies (f.ex. in Oliver Stones “JFK”) repeating it, for only long later infact being shown to have been an anti-Nazi propaganda story and this finally becoming the majority- consesus of historiography today?

“Van der Lube was the lone gun man Lee Harvey Oswald of the time…immediately executed to hush him up”

– Purely factually according to what I could find so was Van der Lubbe:

1. Actually caught on site and (instead of claiming “am just a patsy”) freely admitting to having set the fire.
-This is a minor point, because could also mean having been because of a forced confession, but at the same time this too is a (counter)claim that needs to be proven of course-.

2. Not killed or hushed up immediately at all, but had a full official court trial months later whith a large media attention both inter-and nationally.

3. Neither indicted/accused alone, infact together with 4 other co-defendants, one German (Ernst Torgler) and 3 Bulgarian nationals belonging to radical communist groups of the time. One of those being the (in) famous Georgi Dimitrov who later became head of the Comintern in Moscow and even Bulgarian Premier.

4. A known and convicted pyromaniac who according to extensiv research (published first as a serie in “Der Spiegel” magazine in the 60`s and later as a book) by left-wing researcher Fritz Tobias already had that same day (27th feb 1933) and those before attempted to set fire to several other buildings in the area.

Interestingly also:

– The court infact acquitted/set free 80% of all defendants, despite them openly using the court-hearings to praise Communisn/the Soviet Union, denouncing the “Nazis” and (as mentioned before) accusing them -especially Göring- of having set the fire themselves, so the claim it having been a Nazi-rigged kangaroo-court seems rather dubious to even absurd.

-In addition in the greater picture the claim that this false flag was incremental in establishing Hitler`s power seems again rather dubious given that:

1. The only gain was a limited emergency-decree granted by Hindenburg to stop/contain radical communist activities, which was not especially different to those similar emergency-decrees that had been given already several times to Hitlers Weimar-Republic predecessors Schleicher, Bruening, Von Papen…

2. Hitlers NSDAP had already before in 1932/33 by far the largest public support (larger than all other single and coalition parties of the Reichstag) and solidified its power further not by the forementioned rather insignificant decree, but by employing politics that gained them the respect from large parts of the public (surprisingly fair Arbeits-front arbitrations, paid holiday, improvement of working/economic conditions) and even partly their opponent (socialist) parties (Hitlers May 1933 offer/call to complete mutual de-armament of Europe and international guarantees against all aggression Europe/world-wide) (unfortunately rejected/ignored by Allied Powers), showed in the fact that his/their proposal of the time limited Enabling-act passed by a democratic majority of 80,3 %, which really was what solidified his/their power and had nothing to do really with what happened or not in the Reichstags-fire.

So far at least to what I could find. But of course possible I have overlooked something and so my (as mentioned) question:

Could you please link to the evidence for your claim of it having been a Nazi false flag operation?
