    Title: Barkada Kontra Droga Launching Activity

    Das-agan National High School holds a significant activity, the Barkada Kontra
    Droga Launching Activity in pursuance of the Program conceptualized in 2004 and was
    institutionalized in 2007 by Board Regulation No. 5, s. of 2007.
    The youth form a major section in our society comprising almost twenty-three (23)
    million of the country’s population of ninety-three (93) million. They represent that segment which is
    recognized to have significant role and contribution in shaping progress and development. The
    modern generation of our young people want to enjoy the gift of freedom. They basically want to live
    a life full of adventure and excitement such as enjoying activities like trekking, bungee jumping and
    such other extreme forms of diversions and entertainment. In other words, they want to live energized
    lives.
    However, in these trying times due to Covid-19 Pandemic with the new normal a lot of
    outdoor activities halted which leads in Discouraging group gatherings. In contrast, it also encourages
    indoor activities, alone time, interacting with friends through social media platforms (e.g., Facebook,
    twitter, TikTok, Instagram and YouTube) and playing video-mobile games (e.g., Mobile Legends, LOL
    Wild Rift, COD). Unfortunately, the internet trend doesn’t always give a positive impact to the youth,
    in fact coupled with a lot of disadvantages. Plenty of these social media platforms unfiltered and
    showcases drug abuse, addiction and sensual videoclips. Creating a spark of curiosity in persuasion.
    It is also observed that the youth do face a lot of challenges, coupled with their exposure
    to environmental and social pressures. They have taken to a lot of pulls such as alcohol, smoking, and
    drugs specifically to enticement of friends and acquaintances. This seemingly increasing rate of drug
    use and abuse among them need to be safeguarded and that preventive measures have to be made
    available especially to our young people who become vulnerable victims. The Department of
    Education’s strong desire to address the drug abuse problem, the Dangerous Drugs Board launched
    the Barkada Kontra Droga in cooperation of Das-agan National High School. With this endeavor, the
    School supports and promotes pro-actively the implementation of the advocacy.
    It is a preventive education and information drive created to counter the dangers and
    disastrous effects of drug abuse. It aims to transform and develop the individual to be the catalyst
    within his peer group in promoting a healthy, drug-free lifestyle thru participating in various
    wholesome activities and engaging positive alternative endeavor in the company of his friends.

    Goal:
    To provide total awareness and instill significant information that are responsive
    to the health, security and social needs of the students, upholding the endeavors of the
    Department of the Education fighting against drug abuse, and contribute meaningfully in
    building the nation through a holistic learning environment.

    Faculty and Staff of Das-agan National High School were given different task by
    the school head to work for the different committee in preparation for the 3-day Barkada
    Kontra Droga Launching Activity. Group work and individual task are applied during the
    distribution of task.

    The 3-day Barkada Kontra Droga Launching Activity on______________,2022 which


    will be participated by faculty and Staffs and guests/ speakers. The program will
    start at 7AM, upon the availability of the Conforming Guest, to be held at Das-
    agan Covered Court, Das-agan, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur
