"New Beds" is the sixteenth episode in Season 8 (and two hundred and thirty-third overall) of Regular Show. It first aired on October 13, 2016.
Synopsis[]
The guys get new beds when Sureshot's ricochet blaster accidentally hits one of their beds during their escape from Anti-Pops, except for Pops, whose bedroom is now a computer room. However, Anti-Pops send one of his bounty hunters to capture Pops.
Plot[]
After escaping from Anti-Pops' armada thanks to the sacrifice of Colonel Rawls and Chance Sureshot, Benson tells his team to believe that both Rawls and Sureshot will be fine somewhere safe, and reminds them to continue their mission to bring Pops to safety for his preparation against Anti-Pops.
Shortly, Eileen discovers some damage on the park dome, which turns out to be Skips' bed accidentally hit by Sureshot's "missed shot" during their escape. Skips says he needs a new bed, which makes Benson realize he needs one too. Eileen never had a bed in the park since she never worked there, and Pops' bed is now a computer. Benson is upset that, on top of Anti-Pops' armada blowing up the space tree and chasing them halfway into the next sector, most of them don't have a place to sleep. Before continuing their mission, they decide to get new beds. Benson orders Eileen to plot a course to the nearest bed store. However, Eileen isn't 100% sure how to do that. Benson tells her to figure out how to plot a course to the nearest bed store.
Said store happens to be a UMÄK space store. Mordecai is amazed, saying that is the biggest UMÄK he's ever seen, and Rigby can't wait to have some of their meatballs. Benson orders Muscle Man and High-Five Ghost to guard the park dome while they're gone. Inside, a lost guy is looking for his girlfriend, Maggie. As the gang enter, Benson tells everyone to stick together, so none of them get lost. Suddenly, a giant chicken appears right in front of them, scaring Mordecai, Rigby, and Benson. The chicken welcome them to UMÄK's intergalactic flagship. With modern furniture that's not only cheap, but durable, too. The chicken also tell them to make sure to check out their cafe and have one of their famous meatball subs, Eileen reads a sign with a photo of a meatball sandwich that says "IIIIIT'S MEAT?" on the bottom, and wonders what's the question mark for. However, instead of answering her, the chicken gives Eileen a map. They find the bed section in Sector 1-15-Z and get a move on. The guys proceed to look for the beds and then a woman enters who turns out to be a bounty hunter looking for Pops to collect a reward of 50,000 Space Creds that Anti-Pops offered for him.
After navigating through the store, the group arrives at the bed section. Once they've chosen their beds, Benson approaches an employee to check out. The employee instructs them to go to the warehouse with the bed's item number and that's where they can pick up their beds. Skips ask where the warehouse is, and the employee says its further from the way they came in.
The gang then decided to go to the UMÄK café and have some meatball subs. Pops admitted that it felt good to rest for a bit. However, Benson said they shouldn't be out in the open for long, as this was supposed to be a quick mission, and he worried if there was somebody after them. Rigby told Benson to lighten up as he and Mordecai ate their meatball subs. As Eileen was about to eat her sub, a meatball fell out, grew legs, and ran away, making Eileen lose her appetite, so she left the sandwich. The bounty hunter watches the gang leave before lowering her mask to devour her meatball sub in one bite. Afterward, she starts to follow the gang, but she is quickly halted by an employee who tells her to bus her tray. In response, the bounty hunter turns around and freezes the employee in a block of ice with her ice gun, and then walks away. The bounty hunter catches up with the Park gang as they pass through the bathroom section. She hides behind a cart filled with pillowcases and then approaches the team. Pops senses that someone is following him, so he stops, prompting the bounty hunter to hide behind a curtain. After looking behind him, Pops resumes walking. As he rejoins the others, he whispers to them that he thinks someone is following them. They stop walking as they turn around to look behind them. They see a large curved wooden chair, unrewarded that the bounty hunter is positioned perfectly behind the chair to hide. However, the bounty hunter's cover is blown by the lost guy from earlier ask her if she's seen Maggie. The guys look back to see the boyfriend seemingly talking to the curved chair, then the bounty hunter shoots the boyfriend with her ice gun, freezing him in a block of ice, leaving the guys escaping from the bounty hunter.
The Park gang runs away as the bounty hunter fires her ice gun at them, narrowly missing. They enter another transport tube, and she follows closely behind. The transport tube takes the gang to the oversized furniture section, filled with giant furniture. They make a left but reach a dead end, surrounded by sofas and a large armoire against the wall. Just then, they are rescued by the owner of UMÄK and one of the space operatives, a sentient armoire named Glömb. He reveals to the group that he is one of many operatives stationed throughout the galaxy, sworn to protect Pops, the universe's Chosen One. The gang is surprised to learn that the galaxy is aware of who Pops is. Glömb explains that the resistance exists solely to aid Pops in his quest to defeat Anti-Pops. Eileen asks Glömb how they can know if they can trust him, and why he believes Pops is the Chosen One. Glömb replies that he recognized him by the sacred mark he bears: the symbol of the resistance. He shines his light to a higher point on the wall, revealing a tattoo of Pops' head. The guys thanked Glömb for helping them escape to the quickest passage way he provide for them from the bounty hunter.
Before escaping, Benson reminds his team not to forget to bring their new beds with them. As the bounty hunter catches up with the group, they attempt to freeze them and take Pops to Anti-Pops. However, their plan is interrupted by UMÄK employees because the bounty hunter had frozen one of the diner employees while trailing Pops, before her cover was blown. Despite the seemingly hopeless situation, Pops, unable to use his Chosen One's telekinetic powers, decides to help his friends fight the bounty hunter. Pops crashes the cart into the bounty hunter, before pushing her, then Mordecai throws a meatball sub at her, and Skips and Rigby manage to open the display case with a chair and a wooden butt. Benson pushes the bounty hunter into the display case, while Eileen uses the bounty hunter's freeze ray to prevent her from escaping. Finally, Rigby activates the wooden butt, knocking her unconscious, and the group manages to escape from the bounty hunter.
While guarding the park dome at UMÄK, Muscle Man and High-Five Ghost were hungry. They found a single burrito and fought for the food. Luckily, High-Five Ghost found a second burrito hidden within another. Skips is glad that they made it out. However, Benson fears there might be more bounty hunters Anti-Pops hired, looking for Pops. But Mordecai assures that as long as they work together and have each other's backs, they'll be fine. When Pops asked if one of his teammates knows how to assemble the packed beds, none of them knew. They had never been given a manual to assemble them due to a situation the bounty hunter put them through.
