"Lame Lockdown" is the thirty-third episode of season seven of Regular Show (and two hundred and fourteenth overall) It first aired on June 9, 2016.

Synopsis[]

The head scientist puts Mordecai and Rigby on a 24-hour lockdown inside the Dome, but they want to sneak out and see one of their favorite bands.

Plot[]

Mordecai and Rigby are at the coffee shop watching a commercial for Del Halon's upcoming interview with the band "Mercury Heat" at the coffee shop. After cheering for the commercial as well as rejoicing in how Margaret got them back stage passes for the interview, Dr. Langer flies in and reprimands them for taking one of the scientist's carts. At the Park, Langer show's Benson photographs of the two of them abusing the cart and causing a ruckus with it. He institutes a 24 hour lockdown for Mordecai and Rigby and threatens to fire Benson if the duo leave the dome. Benson complains but Langer then pressures him to do it anyway.

Later that night, Pops helps Mordecai and Rigby escape. Not only that, but he sets up a diversionary tactic in Mordecai and Rigby's room to fool Benson. At the interview, Del starts by asking admittedly soft questions, which Mercury Heat give soft answers to. Mordecai and Rigby then complain, which Mercury Heat then overhear and ask if they have questions. They then ask a question about the guitar solo on one of their albums, which Mercury Heat positively respond to and then say that they wanted to be interviewed by them and not Del, to which Del somberly agrees by saying "And...scene." At the park, Benson complains about Mordecai and Rigby to Skips, which makes Skips points out that he's not actually mad at Mordecai and Rigby but Doctor Langer since he's technically the boss now and not him. Benson denies this, right before getting an alert that the dome door is malfunctioning. While flipping through the channels, Skips sees Mordecai and Rigby on TV which he then changes to a pizza commercial so Benson doesn't see. Back at the interview, one of the members of Mercury Heat starts having a fit, and telling the crew to turn off the cameras. The group then tells Mordecai and Rigby that that was the best interview they ever had, and then ask them if they wanted to party on their private jet which they graciously agree to.

Back at the park Benson goes to the dome door where he finds a rock propping it open, to which Benson immediately realizes is the doing of Mordecai and Rigby. Pops sees this through his binoculars and then proceeds to call them on the Jet.

On the Jet, Rigby mentions to a Mercury Heat member how he's trying to graduate High School to impress his dad, to which he somberly praises him saying "all the fans in the world can't replace a father's love". He then cheers them up with a barrel roll flipping everyone in the jet. Pops then calls them telling them that the jig is up, stressing Mordecai and Rigby as they wouldn't be able to get back to the park in time, to which Mercury Heat answers with giving them glider suits.

Benson kicks his way up to Mordecai and Rigby's room, to see Pops moving dummies shaped like Mordecai and Rigby, feigning ignorance on the matter.

Mordecai and Rigby then glide through the moon door while Mercury Heat cheers them, and then hit a tree. They then hear Benson and proceed to run from him, seeking refuge in metal tunnel. While walking through it they see what appeared to be a monster lab assistant tied to a broken cart, which makes Mordecai and Rigby run outside. They then try to tell Benson that there is something down there but Benson wanted to hear none of it. Dr. Langer then flies in on his jetpack chastising Benson for not doing his job in keeping them in line. He then attempts to fire Mordecai and Rigby, which angers Benson immensely as they are his employees and its his decision how to reprimand them, finally standing up to Doctor Langer and telling him he doesn't have the right to tell him how to do his job and tell him to back off and stop breathing down his neck. This makes Doctor Langer stumble and break his jetpack and fearfully agreed to leave Benson do his job and attempted to fly away but forget his broken jetpack and flew into a tree.

Mordecai and Rigby then apologize for sneaking out while praising Benson, to which Benson thanks them and decides not to fire them "for now". He then tells them to take off their silly glider suits as they all walk back to the house. In the bushes Dr. Langer calls on his walkie talkie saying "They're ready, and I'm going to a hospital".
