Mitsunari Ishida (石田 三成) was Hideyoshi Toyotomi's retainer, who was actually possessed by Claudius of the three Genma Triumvirate, who intend to resurrect Fortinbras.

Historical Background

Mitsunari, known as Sakichi (佐吉), was born in the Ishida Clan and served as a retainer for the Azai clan before serving under the Toyotomi Clan. After Hideyoshi seized power, his skills at finance, Mitsunari became a leader of the bureaucrats in Hideyoshi's government.

Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams

Mitsunari became the host body of the Genma Claudius, their relationship at first symbiotic before Cladius manages to assert total control and act on his own ambitions to oversee Fortinbras resurrected. Luckily, Mistunari's retainer managed to purge Cladius from his lord's body. Mistunari remained unconscious and was left in Sakon's care.

Historical Death

After Hideyoshi's death, Mitsunari remained a supporter of the Toyotomi government as his Western Army faced Ieyasu Tokugawa's Eastern Army in the Battle of Sekigahara that marked the official end of the Sengoku Era. While it is said that Mitsunari was executed in Kyoto after being captured by villagers in his attempt to flee, rumors mentioned that Ieyasu spared Mitsunari and secretly placed him in the custody of Yasumasa Sakakibara to live out the rest of his natural life.
