Dark Puppet

The Dark Puppet is a Genma that first made it's appearance in Genma Onimusha for the Xbox. It's origins are a little vague and somewhat of a mystery. They make another appearance in Onimusha 3: Demon Siege as uncommon enemy fought by Jacques in certain parts of Japan and in France in the year of 1582. It also makes an appearance as a sub-boss as one of the tests of Valor in Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams.

This Genma appears as an entity wearing old fashioned western and eastern style armor - probaly from other soldiers who lost their lives in battles of times past. It may also be possible that the entity that wears this armor, could also be the corrupted souls of the human soldiers, now taken over by a genma soul instead. Another theory is that they were created by Guildenstern, as an elite hand to hand combat soldier. When Samanosuke fights Guildenstern in his lab, he is able to summon two Dark Puppets with his staff at will to aid him in battle. this adds possible evidence to this theory that the Dark Puppets were conjured by Guildenstern after learning how to resurect the dead. it seems that the different coloured souls they have, from green to red, are the weakest to strongest. The only exception when they appear blue are in Guildenstern's lab. In Dawn of Dreams they are violet and mimicks the characters in the game.
