The River Gilrain flowed south from the White Mountains before becoming a tributary of the River Serni.
Gilrain was one of the Five Rivers of Lebennin. It had one unnamed tributary that ran down from the eastern side of a part of the White Mountains. According to Karen Wynn Fonstad's The Atlas of Middle-earth, it ran a total of nearly one-hundred miles where it joined the Serni just above Linhir and went into the Bay of Belfalas.[1]
Etymology[]
Gilrain was a Sindarin word for 'Star-wanderer'.[2]
