The Strangers: Chapter 1 is a rather solid remake/reboot to the franchise as this time around we get our scream queen in Madelaine Petsch. The overall theme and beats of the movie are very similar to the original film but to say this is a beat for beat remake is just wrong. Renny Harlin does his best to pay respect to the filmmaking of the original while also making it his own at times.
