Mad Max: Fury Road

Mad Max: Fury Road

The ultimate rewatchable. I honestly think it gets better every time and thats the reason i've upped my rating from 4.5 to 5 stars because this has zero flaws. I watched Furiosa and this back to back and its amazing how much more you pick up on. Ive seen it a fair few times now and i still manage to pick up new things and minute details which are very subtle. I keep wondering if Immortan Joe is actually Toecutter and somehow he survived.

The title of the film maybe Mad Max, but this is a Furiosa movie. The audience just sees what is happening through Max's eyes, but Furiosa is the true hero here and Charlize steals the shows in terms of performances. She always does such an incredible job in these roles which are so gritty and not glamorous in the slightest. Shes such a badass and for such an attractive and beautiful human, its amazing how she can transform into these characters and pull it off. She did the same in Monster and deserves all the credit she got. An incredible actor. Also lets not forget Tom Hardy because to do such a great job here when given very little dialogue is quite an achievement. His performance almost solely relies on body language, facial expressions and action. He pulls it off so well. Im confident saying im very glad this stayed in production for so long which allowed not only developments in technology so this looks completely different to the original Mad Max trilogy but also for Mel Gibson to be too old for the Max character.

The world building is just insane and the creative minds of George Miller and other screenwriters involved truly know no bounds. I fully believe this will down as one of the all time greatest action movies and just another example of how practical effects will always trump CGI. One of my biggest movie going regrets is not seeing this in cinema because i hadn't seen the original trilogy. What a stupid decision that was. If it is ever re-released i will be first the queue.

An awesome spectacle, 2 hour non-stop adrenaline rush filled with addiction level entertainment. Truly something.
