“Con Air” is the kind of self-aware cheesy action popcorn flick I love. I enjoy the insane premise, over the top action, and corny dialogue, but the main selling point has to be the cast. Nic Cage and John Malkovich chew the scenery in the most entertaining way, and just look at the supporting cast: John Cusack, Ving Rhames, Dave Chapelle, Danny Trejo, and Steve Buscemi. They all have so much fun with their roles, and this fun is infectious. There isn´t a dull moment and the whole movie is full of energy. Yeah, everything is ridiculous but that´s kind of the point and I wouldn´t have it any other way. I got what the poster promised me. Not more, not less.
