Can't top StavvyBaby's review of this movie which said the best part is how much motherfucking sense it made.
The best part of this is the credits which show you each of the actors in this wonderful cast, most of whom play rapists or murderers, smiling and laughing with each other over "Sweet Home Alabama." I also love that the final scene makes the audience cheer for child cannibal Steve Buscemi being free to kill again.

In some ways, Con Air is a spiritual sequel to Forrest Gump. It’s Forrest, I mean Cameron Poe’s attempt to save Bubba, and get home to his Jenny, oops I mean, his Hummingbird.
Nic Cage has a glorious mullet. Hell, you spend almost a decade in prison, why not grow out your lovely locks? The combo of undershirt, tight blue jeans and manly mullet is about as macho as macho gets. Plus, Nic is never lazy. He dives into every single role he takes, and this is PRIME NIC CAGE. The years with The Rock, Face/Off and Con Air is the era in time when Nic was an action blockbuster super king.

I hadn't seen this movie since it came out more than 15 years ago. I didn't much care for it then, but I have to confess I LOOOOOOOOOVED it today. What played as a ridiculously dumb action film then now hit me as a deliberately silly action comedy. There are some choices that were probably meant to play straight that have since aged into unintentional majesty (like the de rigueur Bruckheimer radio-friendly pop song that is hilariously dated AND so completely inappropriate for the material, LeAnn Rimes' "How Do I Live"), but for the most part this movie is deliciously self-aware.
