October Horror Movie Challenge Day 22: A sequel, remake or reboot of a horror film.
Wow that was terrible. I don’t think there is any way I can express how bad this is without spoilers. For starters Michael is just going to hang out in the sewers for 4 years, doing what exactly? I can see four months maybe, but 4 years, GTFO of here with that. I feel like the point was to not make another Michael just shows up and kill, but didn’t have the guts to go full Friday the 13th A New Beginning and have a copycat killer, so we now get this weird strange two killer thing where Michael now see a fellow killer. That’s just stupid. Also stupid what in the world is it with the awkwardly weird flirting in this movie? While Watching the Corey and Allyson relationship my kid looks at me and says its J.D. and Veronica from Heathers. And they were right, are we really doing Heathers?
I liked Halloween 2018 and it honestly could have been a good conclusion to the franchise right there, but we want to squeeze more out of it. Fine we could take the ending of Ends and tack it on to Kills, because in the end, other than killing Michael, this film is useless. Halloween 2018 changed everything, no longer do we have the Michael kills his family members or The Cult of the Thorn crap, or even the Rob Zombie humanization of Michael Myers. But now with Kills and Ends we have given him more silly motivations. So as I have always stated, this franchise in my opinion should really only be the original and Season of the Witch, after that, I really just don’t care.
