Somehow better on second viewing. Saw on 70mm IMAX finally and my god this is gorgeous. Ludwig Göransson’s score is so ever-present and overwhelming. It’s like a constant signal of impending doom throughout everything. It’s incredible. Oppenheimer is characterized very interestingly. I saw someone say he’s a man who can’t commit to anything, even opinions on things, except to complete his own work and achieve something. He never seems to truly take into account what he’s doing until after he’s already finished it. Not interested in the conversation of consequences or repercussions until he’s already completed his own personal breakthrough. A man who doomed the world, pretending he was saving it.
