The theater was definitely the best experience for Osgood's horrorpiece. I don't get to the theater often so that definitely impacted my score in a major positive way.
Pulsing bass, tense silent moments, tremendous editing, and eerie performances round out this gem. Monroe is tremendous as the awkward and intelligent outcast and Cage is pretty terrifying. I found the music, sound, cinematography, and shot framing all to be great and was engaged the entire time. The balance of intense sounds and stark silence was perfect to me and added to the anxiety. I liked the ending and really enjoyed the journey but wasn't so sure on a few plot devices that drove things to occur. That's as specific as I can get without spoiling, I guess. Overall, I loved Perkins showing and the notes this takes from so many other horror classics, while remaining original, and I already can't wait to rewatch.
