So I really liked this BUT I just wasn’t as scared/disturbed/chilled as the unfairly high expectations were set. It’s really well shot and I love the style choices made (especially with the aspect ratio). It kept me constantly searching the background for something to appear and I feel like the shots are all carefully composed to keep the viewer on edge waiting for some detail to emerge. The movie does a GREAT job with this and I feel like there are plenty of shots that I’ll notice more detail with on a rewatch. It’s certainly unsettling, well acted, well shot, and overall a very good horror thriller movie. I really liked it, wish it blew me away more but perhaps I will like it more on a rewatch.
