Rest in this Everyday Life! (この日常に休息を!, Kono Nichijō ni Kyūsoku wo!) is the nineteenth chapter of the KonoSuba Nichijou manga series.

Summary[]

Seeing a zapped Wiz carried off by Kazuma to accompany his party on their vacation, Vanir proceeds to fix the deficit she had caused by all the merchandise that need to be returned. He then takes out the organic rubbish which had increased ever since Aqua began visiting the shop for tea, before accepting the challenge from a crow diving in for them.

After Vanir drives the crow off, the Loli Succubus who is a fan of him asks to shake his hand, only to be instantly rejected. The Receptionist Succubus then comes asking for his signature, but gets rejected again by the busy Vanir who tells the Succubi to worry about their cafe instead.

Checking out the functionality of the kotatsu once more, Vanir recalls Kazuma saying that the heating gadget is an magic item from which those who enter cannot get out for an hour. Vanir accordingly sits inside for an hour's rest while he reviews a catalogue, when Yunyun who he reveals had failed to befriend cats comes along. Reading from Yunyun's thoughts that she had come to find Megumin without knowing about her party's vacation, Vanir keeps it a secret as he invites the Crimson Demon into the kotatsu. Yunyun while enjoying the warmth is then handed a tangerine, only to find out that it has layers upon layers of peel, and thus emits delicious emotions of anger at him. Eventually finding only a tiny tangerine under all the peel, the upset Yunyun who has to buy it leaves, much to Vanir's satisfaction.

Concluding how the kotatsu will indeed confine living creatures, Vanir makes to continue with returning merchandise, but then changes his mind to stay inside the kotatsu and pretends not to see more boxes of goods purchased by Wiz. Several hours later, Vanir opens those boxes to find more junk, and is enraged by their invoice which denotes a closely approaching return deadline as well as a clearly overpriced cost. Throwing the boxes outside onto the return pile, Vanir vows to make the sorry excuse of a shopkeeper who had just enjoyed the hot springs work hard upon her return.
