New Products in this Everyday Life! (この日常に新商品を!, Kono Nichijō ni Shinshōhin wo!) is the fourteenth chapter of the KonoSuba Nichijou manga series.
Summary[]
Aqua and Kazuma are enjoying a peaceful day in the living room, when Aqua's goddess sensor detects the presence of something unpleasant within their mansion, so she orders Kazuma to check it out since he has the lowest stats among them. He opens the door to see Vanir, at whom Aqua immediately casts Sacred Exorcism. Barely dodging it with much more difficulty than the Demon, Kazuma yells at Aqua for nearly hitting him, though Aqua calls him an acceptable sacrifice, thus Vanir advises kicking the heartless goddess out of the party. Subsequent to stopping the riled Aqua from attacking Vanir, Kazuma convinces through expensive bubbly for her to stay outside while he talks business with the Devil.
Vanir starts off by scaring Kazuma into thinking that Aqua had made Wiz take on huge debts, then after clarifying asks Kazuma for ideas of new products. Following the idea of the mobile phone discarded due to difficulty with production and the easily implemented automatic vacuum cleaner chosen instead, Kazuma responds to Vanir's request for a quest support item with something inspired by the Poké Balls, which he proposes making with Slimes that simply wraps all around the capture target except for the head.
The ensuing Slime Catcher-kun sold at Wiz's Shop turns out to be a huge success that makes Wiz weep in joy, and following a quest that has become a piece of cake thanks to it, Kazuma as he carries a limp Megumin refuses Darkness' request to throw the item at her. However, he is accordingly sought out by Sena, who tells him about the Slime Catcher-kuns being dumped at one spot in town after use and making townsfolk mistake the heap for Slime monsters. Piqued when he hears of Vanir shirking all responsibility and making it seem like he who came up with the idea did it on purpose, Kazuma manages to convince Sena that many other adventurers who didn't pick up after themselves were part of the cause, while he also unrepentantly plans recovering his reputation with the robotic vacuum cleaner.
