The Old Wizard's Lab was operated by the Wizard Pharoah Very Ankh-Amman. It was located in the Agrabah bazaar. Its only appearance was in Disney's MathQuest With Aladdin.
Description[]
Inside of the lab is a magical vortex, in front of which is a table on which baskets of various colored crystals sit. There is also a large plate on which the crystals are placed, a book of crystal potion recipes, and a lightning bolt medallion. The keys to Very Ankh-Amman's Floating Pyramid are kept in the lab.
In order to access the vortex, one has to put the right combination of crystals on the plate, according to the book's instructions. To mix the potion, the visitor must touch the medallion. If the recipe is correct, the vortex will expand. The process must be repeated two more times before the vortex is fully open.
Role in the game[]
By the time the events of MathQuest took place, Very Ankh-Amman had been deceased for many years, and the lab was closed and boarded up. After it was learned that the evil genie Bizarrah (whom Ankh-Amman had previously defeated and imprisoned in the Floating Pyramid) had imprisoned Aladdin in the lab, Genie, Iago, Jasmine, and Abu, came to rescue him. Genie blasted the boards apart with dynamite which he had conjured, and they proceeded inside the lab.
Once inside the lab, Iago immediately noticed all the differently colored crystals as well as a bunch of golden triangles on the table. Genie decided to take the triangles, thinking they might come in useful later. Abu noticed Aladdin's fez cap floating in a vortex, and Genie and Iago concluded that this was where Aladdin was hidden. The realized they would need to use the crystals in order to open the vortex. It was then that the spirit of Very Ankh-Amman appeared, and guided them through the process of opening the vortex.
Once inside the vortex, Genie and Iago found themselves lost in the dark. Through careful navigation, they managed to find Aladdin, and freed him from the vortex. Once they were out, Aladdin revealed that Bizarrah had broken her lamp into three pieces to prevent herself from being imprisoned again. Aladdin had managed to grab one of the pieces as Bizarrah tossed him into the vortex, and overheard her say that she had hidden another at the Magic Carnival. Armed with this information, Genie and Iago made their way to the carnival to find the second lamp piece.
It is unknown what happened to the lab afterwards, but it can be assumed that it was re-boarded up.
