Paul Holvey (Democratic Party) is a member of the Oregon House of Representatives, representing District 8. He assumed office in 2004. His current term ends on January 13, 2025.
Holvey (Democratic Party) retained his position in the recall election on October 3, 2023.
Biography
Holvey attended Lane Community College, Central Washington University and the University of Oregon. He also earned a certificate from the University of Oregon Labor Education and Research Center. His professional experience includes working as a carpenter, foreman and project superintendent under various contractors. Holvey has also worked as a real estate agent, a union representative for the Pacific Northwest Carpenters and as a Community Relations Representative for The Northwest Carpenters.[1]

Elections for the Oregon House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on May 20, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 11, 2014. Incumbent Paul Holvey was unopposed in the Democratic primary. He also ran as a write-in candidate on the Republican party and Working Families Party tickets. Holvey was unchallenged in the general election.[7][8][9]

Holvey won re-election in the 2012 election for Oregon House of Representatives District 8. Holvey was unopposed in the May 15 Democratic primary and defeated Aaron Baker (R) and Lucian Blansett (C) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[10][11][12]

Holvey won re-election to District 8 in 2010. He had no primary opposition but was challenged by Simone Gordon in the general election which took place on November 2, 2010.[13][14]
