Michael Meredith (Republican Party) is a member of the Kentucky House of Representatives, representing District 19. He assumed office in 2011. His current term ends on January 1, 2027.
Meredith (Republican Party) is running for re-election to the Kentucky House of Representatives to represent District 19. He declared candidacy for the 2026 election.
Biography
Michael Meredith, as of February 2020, lived in Oakland, Kentucky. He earned a bachelor of science in business administration from Western Kentucky University. Meredith’s career experience includes working as a loan officer with the Bank of Edmonson County. He has also been a member of the Edmonson County Lions Club.[1]

John Wayne Smith ran unopposed in the Democratic primary, while incumbent Michael Lee Meredith ran unopposed in the Republican primary. Meredith defeated Smith in the general election.[6][7][8]

Noteworthy events
Removal as committee chair following sexual harassment settlement (2017)
In November 2017, it was reported by the Courier-Journal and the Lexington Herald-Leader that Meredith, Speaker of the House Jeffrey Hoover (R), and State Reps. Brian E. Linder (R) and Jim DeCesare (R) were involved in a settlement related to sexual harassment. All three representatives were temporarily removed from their positions as committee chairmen and Hoover resigned as house Speaker.[12]
