M. Monica Zamora is a former judge on the New Mexico Court of Appeals. She was elected on November 6, 2012, and assumed office in January 2013.[1] She retired on January 31, 2020.[2]
Zamora was previously a district court judge in the Second Judicial District of New Mexico.[3]
Education
Zamora earned her B.A. in business administration from Fort Lewis College in 1982. She earned her J.D. from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 1987.[4]

2012
Zamora ran successfully for election to the New Mexico Court of Appeals. She defeated Victor Lopez (New Mexico) in the Democratic primary on June 5, 2012, receiving 66% of the vote.[7] Zamora then defeated incumbent J. Miles Hanisee in the November 6, 2012 general election, receiving 55.51% of the vote.[1][8]
