Kathy Jennings (Democratic Party) is the Attorney General of Delaware. She assumed office on January 1, 2019. Her current term ends on January 5, 2027.
Jennings (Democratic Party) ran for re-election for Attorney General of Delaware. She won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
Jennings succeeded Matthew Denn (D), who served from 2015 to 2018.
Jennings won the Democratic primary for attorney general against three challengers on September 6, 2018. She went on to win the open general election on November 6, 2018, defeating Republican Bernard Pepukayi with 61.3 percent of the vote.
Biography
Jennings was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware. She attended the University of Delaware and Villanova University Law School.[1]
Jennings worked as the Delaware state prosecutor from 2011 to 2017. In 2017, she became chief administrative officer of New Castle County. She also served as the county's public safety director. Jennings previously worked for the Delaware Department of Justice, as the Delaware state prosecutor, and as chief deputy attorney general for the Delaware DOJ. Jennings also worked in private practice.[1]

Jennings became the 46th attorney general of Delaware on January 1, 2019. She was first elected to the position on November 6, 2018. She succeeded Matthew Denn (D).
