James McHall Jones (1823-1851) was a federal judge on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California.

He was nominated by President Millard Fillmore on December 23, 1850. He was confirmed by the Senate on December 26, 1850, and received commission that same day. He served until his death on December 15, 1851.
