|In addition to being an accomplished attorney, Gile is a proud Army spouse and an award-winning advocate for military families. She is a proven leader who has led a thousand-member, award-winning organization that works to expand employment opportunities for military spouses and provides free legal assistance to Gold Star families and veteran caregivers. Gile is also an experienced attorney, representing businesses in litigation in Maryland and the District of Columbia for the past 15 years. She decided to run for the Maryland Senate in District 33 after seeing a need for more effective representation on four key values: supporting working families, protecting the environment, helping small businesses thrive, and investing in our public schools. Gile's husband, SGM D.J. Gile, has been serving active duty in the U.S. Army for the last 23 years. They reside in Severna Park, Maryland, along with their three daughters. - Advocacy and public service have long been part of me, as an experienced business attorney, nonprofit leader, and military spouse. I have led well-respected organizations benefiting military families and veterans. As a university trustee, I am involved in strategic planning and financial oversight. I also have devoted significant time volunteering in my community and my daughters’ school.
- Among my many reasons for running for office is my frustration with the impact that the pandemic had on working families and especially women leaving the workforce. I will work to continue to expand paid family and medical leave, recently passed this last session.
- I care deeply about ensuring that every child has a chance to learn and thrive in a safe environment, and I will work to ensure that our schools have the resources they need. In fact, I have been very proud to have been endorsed by the Maryland State Education Association.
With respect to the environment, I believe that climate change is an existential threat, and I support the recently passed Climate Solutions Now Act, which aims to reduce greenhouse gasses by 60% by 2030 and to reach net-zero emissions by 2045. In addition, protecting the Chesapeake Bay and its watershed is an important concern, and I support measures to stem harmful stormwater runoff and to hold polluters accountable.
Additionally, public safety is a top concern in my district, and I support measures to urgently address crime, including getting much-needed resources for our first responders.

Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
