Alma Allen (Democratic Party) is a member of the Texas House of Representatives, representing District 131. She assumed office in 2005. Her current term ends on January 14, 2025.
Allen (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the Texas House of Representatives to represent District 131. She won in the general election on November 5, 2024.
Biography
Allen is a retired School Administrator with Houston School District, a position she held from 1961-2000. She has been an Assistant Principal at Foster Elementary School, Principal at GBM Turner Elementary School, Teacher at Parker Elementary School, and Principal at Peck Elementary School.[1]

Elections for all 150 seats in the Texas House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on March 4, 2014. Those candidates who did not receive 50 percent or more of the vote in their party primary on March 4 faced an additional May 27 primary runoff. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in these elections was December 9, 2013. Incumbent Alma Allen defeated Azuwuike Okorafor in the Democratic primary and was unchallenged in the general election.[7][8][9]

Allen won re-election in the 2012 election for Texas House of Representatives, District 131. Allen defeated Wanda Adams in the May 29 primary election and won re-election in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[10]
