Tracy King (Democratic Party) was a member of the Texas House of Representatives, representing District 80. He assumed office in 2005. He left office on January 14, 2025.
King (Democratic Party) won re-election to the Texas House of Representatives to represent District 80 outright after the general election on November 8, 2022, was canceled.
Biography
King was born on November 9, 1960. After graduating from Carrizo Springs High School he attended Southwest Texas Junior College, Sul Ross State University and Texas A&M University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering. King is the Owner of Beltone Hearing Aid Center, which currently provides hearing healthcare to 16 Southwest Texas counties. He began working there in 1983 and purchased the company in 1987. He has served as a member of the First United Methodist Church Board of Trustees, President of the Kiwanis Club, and President of the Texas Hearing Aid Association.[1][2]

Those candidates who did not receive 50 percent or more of the vote in their party primary on March 4 faced an additional May 27 primary runoff. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in these elections was December 9, 2013. Incumbent Tracy King was unopposed in the Democratic primary. King defeated Marco Buentello (G) in the general election.[7][8][9]

King ran in the 2012 election for Texas House of Representatives, District 80. King defeated Jerry Garza in the May 29 primary election and was unchallenged in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[10]
King announced in September 2011 that he would be running for re-election in 2012. Upon announcing his bid, King said "Our State is facing significant challenges that require vigorous and experienced leadership. The seniority that I have will play a pivotal role in securing key leadership positions that will greatly benefit all the citizens of District 800.”[11]
