The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 11, 2014. Aaron Kaufer was unopposed in the Republican primary, while Eileen Cipriani defeated Gary Mack in the Democratic primary. John Jude Bolin withdrew from the race on March 25, 2014.
