- “Oh, Mickey. Whatever happened to that new car anyway?"
"I don't know, and I don't wanna know. That car was trouble!” - ―Minnie and Mickey after this cartoon was shown in "Max's New Car"
Mickey's New Car is a 1999 cartoon starring Mickey Mouse from Mickey Mouse Works. It was first shown during the premiere broadcast of Winnie the Pooh: A Valentine for You and was later featured as part of the show's second episode.
Plot[]
While driving to pick up Minnie for their date, Mickey's faithful car breaks down so he buys a new futuristic car. The new car proves to be a bigger problem than his old one. The car eventually dumps Mickey on the side of the road. Later, he goes back to get his old car, but someone has already bought it. Fortunately, that someone turns out to be Minnie and the two go on their date.
Characters[]
Trivia[]
- The new car reappeared in the House of Mouse episode "Max's New Car", in which it takes Max for a wild ride.
- The short is similar to the Pixar short "Mike's New Car" as the main characters (Mickey and Mike Wazowski) buy new cars to replace their old ones only to cause problems for them throughout the short.
- At one point when the new car goes out of control, it is shown crashing through ten danger signs. The signs say "STOP", "DANGER", "TURN AROUND", "YIELD", "HEY", "THESE SIGNS", "ARE EXPENSIVE", "SO STOP", "RUNNING", and "OVER THEM".
- Additionally, when Mickey approaches the sign that reads "HEY", it is yellow, but when Mickey runs over it, it turns orange.
Errors[]
- After Mickey plugged his new car into the petrol station, we see the inside of the car and it shows the gear lever is in "D", meaning "DRIVE". However, earlier, Mickey was shown pushing his car into the petrol station, meaning he pushed it while it was in "D". This is impossible as the transmission is usually locked to the wheels and engine power. Realistically, Mickey should've had the car in "N" for "NEUTRAL", as that way, the engine and transmission is disconnected from the wheels.
