January 1 - The first five Silly Symphonies shorts, the first appearances of Horace Horsecollar as well as other works (books, films, etc.) published in 1929 entered the public domain after this date in the United States, later than most countries and regions. August 5 - ESPN has acquired the NFL Network, NFL RedZone, and NFL Fantasy for an amount which remain yet-to-be-disclosed, and NFL Network and NFL RedZone were integrated into ESPN's forthcoming streaming service.

September 15 - The Walt Disney Company and Webtoon Entertainment announced a collaboration by planning to launch a new comic platform focusing on comics and manhwa titles based on Disney's properties. Disney also announced to acquire a 2% equally stake of Webtoon Entertainment's from its owners, Naver Group and LV Corporation.^[7]
