- December 16 - Walt Disney Studio changes its name to Walt Disney Productions, Ltd. and establishes a few subsidiaries - Walt Disney Enterprises (for merchandising), Disney Film Recording Company, Ltd. (for music), and Liled Realty and Investment Company (for real estate). About eight years later, the subsidiaries would merge with the main company to form Walt Disney Productions.
